What is the source of this Information?!

 

It wasn’t specified in any of the quoted statements.

 

Unless mentioned what reason do you have to believe it included the Demo?!? :rofl:

Yes but I am talking about FF16.

A game that brings PS5 to it’s knees.

 

What is even the point counting different games of different specifications & even of different eras?!?

 

Also please share Starfield footage running on SeriesS if you have seen.

Or even raw SeriesX footage for that matter.

So far nothing was specified what rig was the reveal running on.

What I quoted is also an official company statement.

They are doubling down on AAA rather than cutting it.

 

Forespoken was obviously a failure & the studio got shut.

What reason would anyone have to bring FF16 as the defacto reason for the revenue cut down is beyond me.

 

Saying it didn’t meet internal expectations doesn’t mean it was a failure like Forespoken.

We don’t even know what their expectations were or if they were realistic to begin with.

 

13% in first month nets around $364m & considering Sony had an exclusivity deal they paid a large amount of their royalties to SE aswell.

That’s just a 6 month window as specified by Sony.

 

It will sell as much on PC as it would have with a simultaneous release.

 

& If it isn’t ready by 6months then mathematically it didn’t make any sense to hold PS5 release.

Focused strategy is a good thing. It means no longer will we get baby games to appeal to non gamers / gamers in same title. 

 

Next Final Fantasy would likely be hardcore. :thumbsup:

This is just June data & it released in last week of June.

 

So this whole 13% is worthless it seems.

 

We need sales numbers from June 22 onwards.

 

So right now the 3m+ in 3 days is the only valid number we have.

Correct.

 

3 million is still pretty good. It means it's moving towards breaking even pretty fast. 

 

Though Final Fantasy release is a once a generation event so I imagine they must have much higher expectations than that.

 

I mean, even Callisto Protocol was expected to sell 4 million in first month. Was considered a failure at 2 million.

FF15 & FF7 with a much bigger install base still sold 3-3.5m in first few days.

 

Both ended up selling 5-6m in first month.

 

So FF16 was right on track….

 

As for expectations….it’s more of an overestimate for investor calls be it something as Grandeur as FF or a no name new IP like Callisto P.

 

 

For Square Enix even the Tomb Raider trilogy didn’t meet expectations but still ended up making 3 games of the same.


Case in point just because SquareE isn’t growing as it should doesn’t mean PS exclusivities are the sole reason :rofl: 

They already tried their hand at going multiplatform with their Japanese games & that didn’t work either.

That was BS. They never gelled with their western studios. Trilogy has sold 40 million overall.

It's not about growth. They are developing multiple titles and expected it to bring in more sales.

 

Ultimately, exclusive or not, they need to make a game that makes you go, this is best game i have ever played. Like they used to.

Takashi has been outed consistently as unreliable. Said PS5 production cut, turned out it was wrong. Said VR2 sales are low, turned out higher and faster than PSVR. Said FF16 sales were bad, turns out it sold 3Mil over a week on PS5 alone. Not sure where he pulls his analysts from, or just making stuff up but hasn't been right about anything recently.

He writes for Bloomberg, by is the complete opposite of Schrier.

Not even a week….just First 3 days.

 

Those are like Uncharted,TLOU & GoW esque Numbers & totally inline with previous two FF releases.

 

 

I would be surprised if it didn’t reach 6 in the rest of the month & a half since.

 

Forespoken was obviously a failure & maybe they are not growing enough in AA & mobile business.

 

 

But putting everything on FF16 & it’s PS exclusivity is another level of misrepresentation :lol:

Sold well. PS5 has 40 million install base. So 3.3 million is pretty good.

 

It just puts an upper ceiling to potential sales by making it a new console exclusive. Putting it on all systems would've easily pushed it to 5 million and they would've posted operating profit.
