Alan Wake 2 is not Playstation exclusive….

It’s available on Xbox day & date.

Though yeah they have smashed it out of the park in the first half of PS5.

Cross-Gen helped a lot but still it has been incomparable to PS3 & PS4’s first half which were a drab.

Every 3rd party is ps exclusive now. Nobody buys Xbox outside US.

Apparently they have given up on everyone outside of US:-

It’s as much as PS5 Disc edition…..yes Disc edition

Can’t afford to be ripped off of those Brazilian XBLGold cheap codes anymore it seems :giggle:

Asking ppl to be able to pay to play online for something that they already purchased specially when majority of multiplayer is happening in F2P was always a jackass move.

Now increasing even that price is ridiculous.

They should give some option to ppl who don’t want monthly games.

Still can’t forget those days

RE Village,BF 2042,Elden Ring & what not were supposed to be coming on GamePass anytime then

& Now even the games M$ officially owns haven’t showed up :giggle:

Btw…..Alan Wake has a marketing deal with Playstation.

Any game that Playstation markets for free in their showcases & store can’t be put on any other subscription before offering first option to PSplus.

I can understand why they were not keen on doing Alan wake 2.

Xbox collaborated with remedy for quantum break. Quantum Break is a decent game in my book but let's face it the game was neither a commercial success nor critically acclaimed.

After this failure I think MS dropped Remedy collab. MS should have kept their faith in Remedy.

MS was offered to do spiderman?? Afaik Sony has (partial?) right over the IP.

Alan Wake was a genuinely great game.

It was over hyped by bots & shills even then which led to disappointment (kinda like Starfield but just minus 10x)

It was a solid game just like Starfield is in it’s core.

M$ shouldn’t have abandoned it…..they should have given it a try either before or after Quantum Break.

At its core Alan wake 1 is pretty great in creating the atmosphere. Music, story and dialogues are captivating but I would be lying if I said that gameplay was great. Gameplay was okay but the story and setting is what makes Alan wake 1 interesting and keeps you hooked.

Same with Death stranding even tho the game is not massively critically acclaimed and very divisive but Sony still stuck with the IP rather than abandoning it.

MS was offered Spider-Man and they laughed and said no

Decide kar bhai, 83 great hai ki nahi?

If they had made AW2, THen the game would have been very different, Remedy was gonna make a truer sequel to AW. Post RE2, they decided to go Survival Horror route bcuz Sam Lake loved the Remake

Also gameplay for AW1 was a drag, and so was the dialogue writing, which was incredibly bad. Sam Lake used the long break to really write a great game this time around.

Pura post he read karleta bhai!

Puchne ke kya zaroorat thi.

& It’s not like Xbox has been overflowing with 83ish exclusives to begin with.

Even if Alan Wake 2 would have been of same catagory back then…..it would have been only good for Xbox.

As even an 83(non Halo/Gears/Forza) score has showed up on Xbox after a decade.

Like it or not,Xbox under the Software & then Complete leadership of Phail Spencer has had complete disoriented taste.

If it was any other company he would have let go long ago….but since its M$ which is run by Ego rather than metrics….he has been asked to handle expansion ventures of Games development/publishing & is now preparing to eat up multiple industry leading studios.

Sad really…..

Don Matrick was head of Xbox when AW2 was turned down. Quantum Break was approved because it had TV show inbuilt and Xbox under Matrick was pushing for TV TV hard.

Also Remedy games never make money. Max Payne games were critical darlings, but games were not big commercial success. There's a reason only Epic Games decided to approve AW2, because all other publisher refused to fund AW2.

Another example, Rockstar owns MaxPayne IP but never bothered making new MaxPayne game after 3rd entery even though MaxPayne 3 was fantastic game.

Pappu the Phail Spencer was the Vise President of Microsoft Games Publishing/Studios from 2008 up until 2014 when he became Xbox head.

It was under his watch that the darkest decline in M$ published First/Second Party games happened.

He wasn’t responsible for the Kinnect & DRM debacle but he completely took First/Second Party Exclusives to their absolutely worse to the point that no third party wanted to make deals for Xbox.

It was his job to convince the management to invest more in his greenlit projects rather than Kinnect,DRM & third party timed marketing.

Xbox was heavily investing in First/Second & Third party exclusives before Phail arrived to the scene.

Who is to be surely confident that it wasn’t him ho led to the failed management confidence into building the ecosystem organically rather than trying to mimic IPhone & then Netflix & now buying out publishers to become third party!!

But as always since he is bot’s favourite….they will never agree to this fact.

Spiderman IP was offered during early Xbox One generation. MS was still recovering from disastrous Xbox one launch plus they only had like 5 internal studios like 343,Coliation, Mojang, T10 and all. Xbox was down bad around that time and they had no spare studio to make a proper Spiderman game.  So, they rightly decided not make any Spiderman game.

Now MS got teams and we got highly acclaimed Machine games making Indiana Jones, a Disney IP. So lets see

Thing is people post nonsense on twitter to start console war without any clue.

Phill became Head of Xbox in 2014.

Before that he was GM of game studios and he was under Don Matrick who was head of Xbox and he was the one approved Quantum Break.

Phill didn't had same power he has now as head of entire gaming division under MS. He part of bigger MS board now.

Before 2014 no game was getting approved without Don Matrick approval. He was main boss of Xbox till early 2014.

So you are telling me that the head of Xbox Games Publishing/Studios had nothing to do with the state of Xbox First/Second Party from 2008 up until 2014?!?

& What about after that?!?
The Alan Wake IP was relinquished to Remedy in 2019?!?

Don Mattrik was the one who did that too?!?

I guess Baldur’s Gate 3 not being playable on Xbox today is also because of foolishness of Don Mattrik ?!?

From 2010 up until now everything that’s been happening with Xbox is solely because of Don Mattrik & Phil Spenser & Satya Nadella had nothing to do with it!!

You ppl will never agree that it was infact Satya who decided to invest nothing in Microsoft Games Studios after witnessing the debacle it had become under the leadership of Phil Spencer…

It was only once he saw potential of cloud gaming he started investing in Studios.

Even today Xbox President/CEO portfolio which was at the helm of Microsoft Gaming has been shifted to a distant third!!

But anyway……how does it matter whether you agree or not.
