It makes no money whatsoever be it Subscription,Third Party Royalty or First Party Sales. Just doesn’t make sense to block all the acquired content from other platforms. All of a sudden the physical only sales & that too in the UK matter now?!? 70% of what it did 4 years ago in boxed physical & that too with much less than half the install-base of PS4 at that time is infact an exceptionally good number!! Xbox user stopped buying any game on the Xbox. It's basically now a gamepass machine and whenever an xbox show/event gets announced people speculate more and hope for gamepass day1 rather than exclusives etc. Take recent Dead Island 2 for example it's in 1st place on xbox right now after its inclusion in gamepass since no one bought the game before it's inclusions. And it’s a 70 Metacritic game. It bombed big time both commercially & critically. These games don’t make money at all with all of their AAA big budgets & then gets peanuts to be put on Subscription services. Sooner or later they’ll stop getting made or stop getting leased to heavily subsidised & unsustainable services. Just remains to be seen what comes first. Though it’s definitely good for affordable gaming right now & gives joy to so many ppl who either don’t have recourses or time for hefty purchases. Majority of the ones who remain are used to getting games with no extra cost through gamepass, Phila and MS encouraged it. This will only get worse with upcoming all digital console update. First party will barely have any sales leading for releases on PS and/or Nintendo, third party games will be abysmal like Hogwarts Legacy. PS and Nintendo will hold their position with exclusives you can't get on other consoles. Using those 3 games for justifying that PS launching their games on xbox too and exclusives are over. Hell few people are hoping for helldivers 2 announcement in today's xbox partner showcase.. Era & Twitter are full of brain dead followers who know nothing & Shills are still trying to get as many click baits as they possibly can knowing fully well that there is no Back end support from Phill & his TeamXbox now!! Sometimes they say Spider-Man was a multiplatform gaming IP & other times they say MLB is Sony Owned First Party IP. Some say ElderScrolls & Fallout were always Xbox exclusives just like Final Fantasy was to Playstation. They say all the stupid stuff that they can just to maintain footfall in their gardens. Neither Playstation nor Nintendo have any plan to release their self owned & developed stuff on any other proprietary system. Bungie signed a deal directly with Sony & had a clause to keep Destiny & Marathon Multiplatform. What happens in future no one can tell their either. In anycase M$ is definitely contemplating going windows box route just like steam box. So all windows based games will run their anyway. The new narrative has already been circulated even before M$ officially quits proprietor box platform. All of a sudden “supposed gamers” who used to eat sleep breathe Xbox the console are suddenly dicing the whole device segment.
