Richard from DF said Pro will struggle to run GTA6 at 60 since CPU is same as PS5 and GTA ganes are more CPU dependent. If this turns out to be true then its massive L for Pro.

PSSR aka Pisser will have to do some DLSS level of magic to make it run at 60.

You are literally comparing the Pro with base XSX and calling me insane.

If Sony were to sell the base PS5 with a 2 TB SSD, how much would they sell it for, genius?

Also, unlike you, I will be buying the PS5 Pro on launch day.

However, that doesn't stop me from disputing someone who is comparing two completely different things.

Yab or twist whatever you want.

Fact which is clear is that no hardware manufacturer is subsidising costs in this day & age of inflation & prices are just not coming down even for older hardware.

Only reason why Playstation is at the centre of discussion is because it is at the centre of every gamer’s mind.

Many folks didn't buy Ps5 on Day 1 and are still defending Ps5 Pro's pricing.

Bulk of them aren't going to buy Ps5 Pro on Day 1 either.

The rest are either happy with their Ps5's as Pro doesn't offer much value or are going to upgrade anyway while reserving the right to criticize Sony.

I missed IVG.

More or less the same with PS5 if you pick the official WD SSD.

Will probably save around 5k if you go with 3rd party options.

Also, if you choose this upgrade path, the $600 Special Edition Xbox SX is a steal

Bruh why would you buy overpriced "official" when you can get faster ones for half the price? Thats like buying those Nintendo branded micro SD cards for 2x markup

I'm in that first group. I didn't buy PS5 on Day 1, my PS4 Pro was going smooth.

Thought I'd upgrade when the Pro came out but it seems a little lacklustre and the price is kinda steep. If I skip and just buy a standard PS5 to save money, then there is no urgency i guess and I do it when the discounts are decent.

advice?

At this point just throw every logic out the window.

The PS5pro price hurts & it’s the most sought after product in gaming.

Only that is the reality….

PS5 is perfectly fine machine. It offers multiple graphics and frame rate options. Just buy it for cheap and wait for nextgen PS 6 or buy a gaming PC later. All upcoming games will be made for PS5 and then enhanced for Pro with better resolution and all. Pro will not get any exclusive which you cant play on base PS5.

Pro is for hardcore enthusiastic console gamers who want best resolution and fps n all. Apart from 4k resolution thanks to faster GPU and bigger Storage, it offers nothing special or ground breaking stuff.

We need to some comparison and analysis as well to see how much better games look on Pro. So either wait or if you want to buy something now then PS5 solid option. Im a PS5 owner and i plan to keep till PS6 out and i have 4k tv and all but still won't upgrade. I dont see much value in Pro.

Who buys it or who doesn’t(at launch) isn’t even the real subject here….it’s desired by everyone & everyone wants the most desired product at best possible price.

I mean the guy is really arguing here that the biggest competitor not subsidising it’s same old 4 year old like for like hardware & infact charging $100 on top of that for 1TB YES YOU HEARD IT RIGHT 1TB of extra Storage shouldn’t be brought into the picture coz Sony is charging $200 extra over the base launch for giving:-

-45% extra throughput

-PSSR hardware

-RDNA4 RT hardware

-Much more compact & overhauled redesign

I mean…..what is even the point going on…..

So the original post didn't have any memory in PC build, and his reasoning was 8GB on GPU was plenty and because consoles don't have separate RAM.

He then deleted that post and claims he forgot to add memory.

jolly-llb-kon-hai-ye-log-kaha-se-aatey-h

The circus of people trying to build $800 PC to beat the Pro has been entraining af

The actual point of this whole discussion was about comparing PS5 Pro’s 700 USD price tag to Xbox Series X 2 TB Special edition’s 600 USD price tag.

And somehow AnK managed to twist and turn it into this.

The point stands that the Xbox SX’s $600 is totally justifiable, given that it comes with 2 TB of onboard SSD storage.

Similarly, PS5 coming with 2 TB of on-board soldered SSD would be priced similarly. And to compare this price with PS5 Pro is just foolishness.

You still can’t get the point inside your head

In a scenario where base PS5 coming with 2 TB of onboard storage would be priced similarly.

Comparing this 600 USD price with the PS5 Pro is just you being extremely desperate.
If you can’t see it, I can’t make you.
