Finally the few good games they had will receive the love it deserves. Sony gets 30% and more console exclusives with that money. Just look at Space Marines 2 chartzz. Thirst for Gears of War is massively real!! Most of the PS5 owners owned an XB360 just like me!! Forza hardly ever sold more than 2m on Xbox’s. Servers were pretty lag as well. I tried it on PS5. I dont think anyone on IVG playing it or cares about it. Getting all the content on Playstation with a slightly overpriced device would be anyday better than have to buy both Playstation & Xbox which I had to do during PS360 gen. Also With Playstation releasing it’s games on Steam ppl like me who don’t really buy SP games day1 & only Multiplayer games on launch,can always opt for OEM devices too!! I see enough improvements on games I'm yet to play. Hogwarts, Stellar Blade, Re Village and 4R from the top of my head. Sure, no disc drive but it has 2TB SSD. Ppl should be prepared for the inevitable. 2TB of of SSD obviously isn’t free….but ppl just don’t count that. I had to buy 1TB SSD with my PS5 which someone buying PRO doesn’t need to. In 2026….M$ is going to release an unsubsidised disc less (most likely no attachment either) Windows box which will be still value for money compared to building a PC. MS at least at that time gave option of licensing and selling/transferring disc's- but the entire used game market is cut off if discs ever die off, which is pretty close! In ps2 gen, Sony literally charged for memory cards, even in ps3 gen, they overpriced their console and then had to build a psn/mp to compete with Xbox live. If Xbox/gamepass goes belly up next gen, programs like ps extra/essentials might simply close. Subscriptions are definitely lucrative for us…..who can’t keep on spending & don’t have the patience for constant buying & selling. But it should also be sustainable & be long term oriented!!
