Buy it when you feel like you need it. The supply situation will get better with time, not worse.

Thanks how is your series x holding up do you face the problems with launch consoles people post on you tube, like the disc not being read, the xbox light keeps blinking and disc isn't getting inserted among other stuff.

I haven't bought a launch console since my fat ps3 60gb which was notorious for dying which it lived up to within 2 years.

But my launch xbox one x is still great though MS had time to figure out the xbox one hw quirks and fix em.

The other issue that worries is that covid is mutating and the vaccines are nothing but temporary reliefs which can't completely erase covid.

So another worry is that if the world shuts down again and even if it resumes at some point, india will never be a priority to sell these new consoles since the companies will want to recover covid time losses and will only keep inventory for big markets.

Frankly to say i feel like i am leaning more towards the xbox series x for hardware but same story sony has the games even though their system is buggy AF.

A part of me is like fuk it there is no certainty to anything with this pandemic might as well buy a new system though I'm sealing my wallet really hard to control em urges.

At least XSX has 820GB usable storage, PS5 has shitty 660GB usable storage

Right. PS5 using Kraken compression tech is a big pro in its side. Size difference between PS5 and XSX is quite large.

https://www.notebookcheck.net/PlayStation-5-vs-Xbox-Series-X-Kraken-gets-cracking-with-Control-and-gives-the-PS5-an-almost-40-smaller-file-size-to-store.518282.0.html

Quote

Apparently, the Xbox One had to give up 42.1 GB of its hard drive for storage, while the Xbox Series X coughed up 42.5 GB of room on its 1 TB NVMe SSD. Meanwhile, Kraken seemingly got to work on the Control files and left just 25.79 GB of space needed for file storage on the PS5. The percentage difference from the Xbox Series X to the PlayStation 5 in terms of pure file size is -39.32%.

the Control files would take up 4.25% of the XSX’s 1,000 GB space, but with around 802 GB room actually available to the user, the percentage rises to 5.30%. The PS5’s 825 GB SSD would be occupied by just 3.13% with the game’s files, and with the 667.2 GB of actual space available, the figure rises to 3.87%. That means the Xbox Series X still needs to use nearly 37% more space for storing Control than the PS5 with only 20% more overall room on its SSD. Kraken counts.

This technology has once again shown its strengths with Capcom‘s Resident Evil Village, which weighs in at 35 GB on Xbox Series X, while the PS5 version, which is the exact same game, only takes up 27.3 GB apparently.

...Seems that the PlayStation 5 version of a next-gen game is once again flexing it’s compression technique (Kraken) as the file size is nearly 30GB less than the Xbox Series X.

Yeah but still that 600gb will get filled fast as you start playing more and more games. Games are smaller but not that small. Its like 10-15 gb difference max in most cases

External stotage is must and only Xbox offering it atm

I don’t think there are enough NextGen games out there that can fill your SSD

Good luck on trying to fill up XB SX with “NextGen” games :giggle:

Enhanced games also quite big. 50-60gb, especially COD games. Nextgen will be smaller in size as they will use new compression technology. Cross gen games will take more size imo

Few cod games and its gone.

Both systems are great...buy whichever is available first.... there is no wrong option..

Enhanced games are showing 30-40% difference in size. If purely next gen games have bigger file sizes, the difference would be a lot.

Xbox’s hardware is always better.

It works flawlessly even after power outages, without any crazy warnings like PS5.

The power supply on Xbox is so much better.

One more QoL feature on Xbox is seamless cloud saves.
PS5 can never rival that convenience MS provides with automatic and free syncing of saves.

Agree about power outage thing but can series x store current date and time without being connected to the internet.

My one x can't, it just shows some old factory date and messes up my game saves. On Ps4 without internet current date and time is stored.

You can go offline, set the correct date/time, then connect online. Xbox will take the online time with no option to turn it off, but if you disconnect it'll fall back to your set time.

Ok I'll try doing that. I guess i tried this once but after completely turning the system off it reverted back to some 2014 or something factory date. Maybe a new software update has fixed it now

I hope you have procured a HDMI 2.1 TV by now. No point of getting next gen without it.
No been a couple of rough months will get soon when things get normal. I just wish LG C1 hits stores at a sane price till then.

I've read LG G1 is leagues above their c1 line this time?

I won't say leagues above. It's just like a top of the line auto vehicle, bumped up specs as compared to one level below but inherently the same.

A90J seems like league apart but in price range as well.

Although, the amount of improvement which YouTube HDTV & Digital Trends display are not reflected in Rtings review. So I guess it's a lot closer than it seems.

Ive seen some youtube reviews, and while A90J seems to be better, the game mode on G1 is a gamechanger as per most of them. Plus A90J is qn eye watering 1000 dollar more.

What's special in the game mode?

I don't find it that special. It has a dashboard with specific features for HDR calibration like Black and white stabilizer, plus quick toggles for VRR, input delay adjusters and all that. They are nice to have but I don't find them that useful.

The only thing which I really like is the revamped WebOs in G1/C1. Historically, such updates don't trickle down to the previous year's model for LG.
