PlayStation vs Xbox vs Nintendo thread

Recommended Posts

Well, TLOU2 is 2k @ 60 fps on PS5.

Yeah, forgot about that. Played it on PS4 slim for a bit at launch, and it looked really good even at 1080p, should be a visual upgrade still.

Also, does anyone know if the last guardian got a 60fps patch? That’s another game I’d love to go back and play.

Technically speaking, if the horizontal pixel count is above 2000, then it can be called 2K.

So 1080p is 2K only if it's 2048x1080.

But the majority of 1080p games run at 1920x1080 and not 2048x1080.

GT Sport is called 2K [maybe because] it's running at 2048x1080.

Terms are named by different format and different pipeline.

As I mentioned, 2k,4k terms varies different meaning in different areas. But in display resolution term, if it's 1440p then it's been called 2k in short.

The main argument became when this guy said TLOU2 is not 2k but 1440p... which is wrong. Both are same in gaming and display term.

I didn't know people can argue for the sake of argument about something which has already been established and used commonly everywhere.

Not cool.

PS: One alignment resolution exceeding 2k pixel doesn't mean the display is 2k. I have a 2560x1080 res ultrawide as well. The horizontal res is exceeding 2k pixels And this display not being called 2k, but ultrawide FHD.

The way I see it you are the one “arguing” & I am the one who’s “discussing”

& the usual champu’s are just jumping in spewing nonsense to feel special

You are "discussing", and we are all "champus". And not even a single(!!) exclamation mark anywhere.

That hurt me in feelings I didn't even know I had.

Well, today we all get to learn something. I must sermon from now on that how 2k resolution is not 1440p anymore but more or lesser than that! The words has more deeper meaning!

The govt is hiding aliens! We are living in simulation! :roflroll:

Arey bhai. It's very simple.

1080p is HD

1440p has double the pixel count of 1080p ie 2k

2160p has four times the pixel count of 1080p ie 4k

Baaki, you can find 50 technical articles but this is how it's used intuitively.

For eg - kg is a unit for mass but we call it weight. Weight is measured in Newtons.

You could be a pedantic a**hole and correct everyone everytime they call their mass "weight" but you don't wanna be that, right? Right??!!

Thank you! My monitor is actually HD and 39.22 N. I think.

I don't think it's patched for 60fps yet.

However, if you have it in disc, it's default is 60fps. Just disable updates and play it in base version.

Though this method will lose HDR & some precise control axis mapping that were introduced in a later patch

13% higher resolution at peak performance with 3 times more Framerate drops

All very negligible blip in the larger picture

PS5 version is blindly preferable because of amazing controller haptics and availability of disc

my XSX is now an almost exclusively Gamepass machine

If what ppl are expecting from cloud gaming even here in India

comes to be true

Soon you won’t even need that to access GamesPass

yes, but even with those expectations coming true, image quality for cloud gaming will be significantly lower than natively processed image of XSX during XSX’s lifetime. So at least this generation is safe from cloud gaming I’d say

You can do one better, get the PC version and hook up the Dualsense via a usb cable to PC. Exodus is the first game that supports DualSense Adaptive triggers and haptics on PC as well. So you get best quality graphics with the benefit of PS5 ;)
