There is a good chance it might be on gamepass though, lmao

It will come to GamesPass when it comes to EAplay

usually that happens 1 year or more down the line (depending on demand)

I'm continuing the discussion that's happening in the Xsx/Xss thread, here.

The reasons given by @AnKmake perfect sense. South East Asian region (as a whole) is not so profitable for MS and thus, due to chip shortages, it makes better sense (for them) to route XsX in regions where there is demand.

Xss (official unit with bill) is still available in plenty at offiline shops in India.

Further, the following [emoji116] points explain why MS doesn't bother much when it comes to SEA region as a whole.

And yes. Windows Gaming, and not window gaming is one of the reason(s).

Duracell spokesperson claims long-term deal is reason for Xbox Series X still using AA batteries

Quote

It sounds like a very random rumour from Reddit, right? But the story comes via Stealth Optional who interviewed Duracell’s Luke Anderson. He was quoted as saying:

“There’s always been this partnership with Duracell and Xbox… It’s a constant agreement that Duracell and Microsoft have in place… [The deal is] for OEM to supply the battery product for the Xbox consoles and also the controllers’ battery. So that [deal is] going to go on for a while… it’s been going on for a while and I think it needs to go for a while [more].”

Representatives for Microsoft would not discuss the nature of any deal between the two companies, but they did not categorically deny that some kind of partnership existed.

Of course, it’s pretty obvious that some sort of deal exists, after all, from our recollection, Duracell has been providing the pack-in batteries for the controller ever since Xbox went wireless with the 360 back in 2005. But using Duracell batteries is hardly a smoking gun for a deal that’s holding back progress.

Article is a few months old but this is the real reason why they don't have internal batteries in the cheap pack-in controller while providing them in the expensive 200$ elite controllers.

could be

Also they cant put in the same internal batteries that the elite has which lasts upto 35-40 hrs coz they have to be expensive.

I dont want the cheaper controller to have 8-10hr battery to be honest.

Let's all just agree that MS is ripping off it's customers by charging more for the controller and that even though AA batteries are older tech, they are much better than non-replaceable batteries.

Nope. I prefer batteries over cells. Having said that, capacity of the batteries should be higher.
