Having said that, there are pros and cons to every system. Regardless of the battery tech involved, I'd prefer removable batteries that can be charged in-place and separately. That's the best of both worlds and I see no reason why that can't be a thing. Edited September 2, 2021 by TRMNTR Grammar

AnK
I have gamed for years simultaneously on PS360 This whole issue is overblown from both sides As both have equal pros & cons But if M$ ever decides to package in the rechargeable external batteries ? this would change the picture in Xbox’s favour

You will have to get same brand charger, same capacity batteries if you want to keep using bundled rechargeable batteries. Mixing different battery brands or even chargers is not recommended. Much easier to just get a new charger with bundled 4 batteries of whatever capacity you want.

For every controller they ship, they make additional waste that may not be properly disposed by everyone. Include no batteries, reduce the price accordingly. Yep that is there too For all my time with 360 I never bought rechargeable batteries, call it me being lazy or whatever But I just kept on switching Duracells & must created a lot of undisposed waste,as there was severe lack of environmental awareness back then

Or they can do what digital cameras do, which IMO, is the best thing ever. Just include a replaceable rechargeable Li-ion battery that can be charged from the controller and can also be replaced by a backup so that you can always be wireless. radicaldude
Atleast some companies still care for physical media.

The sn30 pro+ does exactly this for 50$. Comes with internal removable battery which you can replace with AA ones if you want.
