Sony will never move on or shut down a franchise if its a huge success. Uncharted 5 is proof of that and so as GT7.

Forza makes money through DLC and microtransactions. Every Forza game more made money than any of these kz and Resistance games lol.

MS will continue Forza if its not making money lol.

Killzone is flop and dead franchise and so as Resistance.

The fact that a top MS exclusive like Forza is being compared to some of the least remembered Sony games is hilarious

Sony doesn't have an open world cruise/racing game like Forza or Flight Sim and Xbox doesn't have any high quality story driven games yet.

Let's just leave it at that.

KillZone & Resistance are least remembered?!?

Each franchise has sold like 6m copies  & scores ranging from 85-92 within PS3 gen.

ranging 2-2.5m per game.

How many copies do you think each Forza game sells?!?

You don’t really know what the Next Uncharted even is.

Last page you mentioned Sony continuing GoW,what a stupidity it is to even continue a discussion with you if you consider the new GoW to even have anything remotely to do with the old games apart from the lead character.

Sony has made ND work on TLOU because they know they can’t make Uncharted forever,no matter how much it sells.

GT7 is a racing game & sports franchises can’t really shut shop & work on something else.

My comparison of Forza with Resistance/KillZone was purely on critical & commercial grounds for each game in similar timeline.

Not that I meant Forza should be discarded coz it’s getting old…..but it could definitely see lesser outings to maintain its charm for sure.

KZ and Resistance may be less remember now but they were defo behemoths of their time. They were doing fine and dandy and are still considered by many to be classics. (including me). Almost all nostalgia posts on the internet discuss the need for a remaster of both franchises (Atleast the campaigns)

In my opinion, its probably just that they figured theyd let the kings of shooters have their cake and double down on what was working well for them critically and commercially.

Sony did a lot of FPS work in the PS3 gen which probably led them to believe that the returns were not worth the cost, with KZ, Resistance, SOCOM4, MAG etc. (again my take)

Calling KZ/Resistance to be forgotten/sh*t is disingenuous

Exactly

The plathora & popularity of COD,BF & then Destiny made Sony realise that their FPS franchises won’t grow beyond a certain point & they should rather do something else.

Not that they were commercial or critical “failures” as said.

Even Halo,Gears remained only a shell of their former self & sold a lot less than what they were earlier.
Yeah it had to do a lot with reduced Xbox market share but ppl can’t go on & call them “failures”.

The only time they gave official number for the game was when it sold 2.1 million with the PS4 install base being just over 4 million.

2.1 million on a console base of 4 million with and attach ratio of over 50% sounds pretty good to me.

He said it sold well, which it did looking at the numbers. Who is implying it was a massive success?

Entire convo is about how both the franchises are memorable/successful in their own right. Not about the last game alone

Sold so well that Shadowfall killed the franchise. Sony deleted the website and shutdown the servers. They told GG, you all only good at 3rd person games. We cant make good fps or a good multiplayer game. So just make what we excel at that is narrative driven SP game.

In general everyone stopped making fps after PS3 gen. Every second new IP back then would be a fps. Heck even publishers like Nintendo, codemasters etc tried to make their own fps during that era
