No one else has been able to crack the live-service formula as well as Bungie. And Destiny opens up a great avenue for movies etc for Sony. Destiny lore is quite interesting has a lot of potential. If Sony is making a push for live-services, there is no-one better than Bungie to help them. No non-F2P game consistently has 200k players playing at any given point. It even manages to jump over Infinite on XBL from time to time. People still play non-stop. I have like ~3.5k hours on main and ~2k on alts. It is a shite game every other month but a good shite game and there is nothing like Destiny out there. Also destiny is still not on mobiles and if launched properly could be huge. They really need the talent, more than the IP itself. They have no one in the FPS or GaaS genre, who can fit the bill. So Bungie is perfect. This is unlike MS - who have had no new ideas at all, since at the very least 2 generations. They need to buy studios and take over existing IPs if they need to generate hype. The last major IP that MS genuinely made from what I remember was Forza. Rest everything was either purchased or paid for 3rd party exclusives. I read few posts from Halo fans on gaf and Twitter and most saying we completed Halo infinite battle pass, now nothing left to do. I think most waiting for new mode and content then it will jump back up. Plus if rumors of BR from Certain Affinity true then you will see massive jump. El Tigre Chino Posted February 2, 2022 Report Share Posted February 2, 2022 Destiny is a tight FPS game, the gunplay feels great and the loot mechanics and gameplay loops are on point. Details like the right trigger rumbling slightly to match the guns hammer when you use the revolver coming down was so good. I got the first game at launch and was put off by how repetitive the levels and content were then but I played D2 a couple of months back and it felt great. I'm looking forward to what comes out from the Sony x Bungie stable without the aggressive monetization from Acti now.
