If you go by the definition of a video game, Flight Sim qualifies as a game.. because people interact with it using an input device and most importantly they have fun. Even the hardcore flight simmers, who go out of the way and use services like VATSIM to do real time ATC, do it just for fun. And yes, obviously the appeal for Flight Sim is not the same as GT. (equally niche & all) By calling Flight Sim a 'program' and not a game you're basically grasping at straws. Essentially all games are programs if you want to be pedantic. Also GT & FS are absolutely in the same category - they are both simulators. One might be more popular than the other, but they both fall into similar categories. GT is focused on one thing and it does that best; FS has a much larger scope which keeps expanding community mods and 3rd party addons, it is very community driven. It was referred to as until just recently when M$ decided to associate it with the Xbox brand. We all know it happened coz they needed to put a count on their presentation as even traditional Halo,Forza,Gears were missing. Also I never disputed the quality or the product itself….just this notion that it’s a AAA video game & that it is as niche as GT,ForzaM Both of which make absolutely no sense whatsoever.
