PlayStation vs Xbox vs Nintendo thread

Yeah in due time consumers would forget about the PS5 specs and lack of BC once the games start flowing in. Still it is a marketing misstep. How can you introduce a new console with a predictable logo and a presentation of technical jargons. Should be the consumers first then the developers.

These devs saying like Series X SSD slow. Its also quite fast and custom made. Just PS5 more faster.

Ultimately, price and exclusives will decide the game. Specs of all consoles will be forgotten soon enough. If PS5 launches early, cheaper than Series X by at least $100 and is able to play all or almost all PS4 games (Not even considering PS 1-3 here), then it will lead right off the gate. No matter how games look or play on Series X. Later down the line, exclusives will decide the ultimate winner. If Microsoft behaves as it did in the Xbox One/PS4 gen - then Sony will win right off the gate.

But I get the feeling ultimately, there will be no console wars this gen. MS at least is no longer playing at console wars. They are focusing more on GP and the console itself is a side. Meanwhile, Sony's focus is still on consoles. So they are both winners.

Historically this is the closest both consoles have been in terms of power, usually one is 40-50% faster than other. So technically there should be no console war, but good luck with that  There's a lot of pent up frustration from last 7 years and its going to come out like a flood.

PS5 superior SSD speed won't be utilized by any 3rd party devs, they will design their game around slowest SSD spec of Lockhart. So, Series X will play all multi-plats at a slightly superior visual fidelity than PS5.

1st party is where PS5 will shine, they don't have to design their game around a lower spec machine aka Lockhart equivalent.

And if MS wants to show true power of Series X then they have to abandon old systems asap. They said 2 years but MS flip flops alot. They might abandon old systems moment they see how impressive Sony 1st party games looking.

Lockhart is not official yet hence still speculation at this point.

Difference was never huge between Xbox and ps4 base or upgraded machines. All you will see resolution and frame rate difference again between XSX and PS5, but XSX will do Ray tracing and all much better than PS5. PS5 will have advantage in load times when it comes to multiplatform games

PS5 will win sales overall. Its more popular brand, it will be cheaper plus it will have true console exclusives which cant be played day and date on PC unlike XSX games.

We just talking hardware power but if we talking about sales. Im announcing right now. PS5 will easily beat XSX in sales.

PS4 was 50% faster than Xbone in terms of TF and 1X is about 45% faster than Pro.

Bro, does MS post warranty support now exist in India or is it still same old neglect?

It was a GDC talk that they could not do because of the pandemic.

It's always been devs first.

Ya but that was not visible in multiplatform games. Difference was there but not huge.

Outside of first party studios, 3rd party studios hardly utilize full potential of hardware.

No post warranty support. You get 1 yr warranty but systems very reliable now and don't easily break. Majority of X users here are using imported/grey market X and no one ever reported any issues.

Im one of the few here who own X purchased from India with Indian warranty which will end this year.

Apparently BC will be good.

I have a feeling Sony will go all in and add legacy console BC support by mid of next gen. They wouldn’t have made this statement if BC wasn’t their priority.

I was wondering if I should get the Xbox one X(Used for 22k in warranty)? I haven’t played any MS exclusives except Gears 1?.

I am thinking Xbox one X, PS5 at launch (Prob mid 2021 here) and Xbox Series X by the time One X support ends.

What do you guys think is one X worth it on a 1080p monitor? Or will Xbox one S suffice?
