Snake
This is probably the closest thread here related to my question. I have a dormant ICICI account that I want to restart, has anyone had any experience in this. CS on the phone was not helpful at all. What's embarrassing is trying to get a card for couple of weeks, and getting rejected while your wife who applied for fun gets it approved. Fml So after 6 weeks I got my card they rejected initially and redid KYC and then approved.

I guess you had given the app permission to access your mails. Maybe that's why they have access to your statement.

Nevertheless started using the app for the past month. So far so good.

Not sure about ICICI but with Citi had an account that was dormant for about 4 years. I just had to submit my PAN, update address docs etc. This was about 8-10 years back fwiw.

KunjanPSD
Just found out that HDFC Diners Black CC is lifetime free for final year students and alumni of my college (worth 10k/year otherwise). I don't want to have more than 1 CC. Seems like this is the best deal.
