Only HDFC thing. Other cards are fine. 41 minutes ago, KunjanPSD said: Any bank which has shifted to bill pay. Bill pay is mandated by the govt. Basically Govt. was like: aggregators can't earn from holding the payments and then doing bulk payments, customer payments are delayed etc etc. In reality, the profit potential has been shifted from the aggregators to the Govt. And mostly, it is about more surveillance. Everyone has to use the same, be it HDFC or Amex.

Call CC, they will enable it after asking you to submit a form. https://offers.smartbuy.hdfcbank.com/offer_details/gvp/24664/Z2epmWc%3D It's a no brainer. 199+GST/year, get 1% upto 1000 per month i.e. 1L worth of spend. Plus for the first year you get 500 RPs.
LordSpymaster
This GVP should be useful for international spends using CC abroad as well right? I wanted to activate this for SGP last year but barely anyone accepted Diners, hopefully South Korea is different...

And it hardly costs anything.

So that the transactions are all non-DCC I mean when do you need to DCC transactions, if at all?

So that the transactions are all non-DCC I mean when do you need to DCC transactions, if at all? If you are travelling abroad, you do not need to worry. DCC mainly comes in when an international merchant is making you pay in INR or some online website is doing the same. DCC is always the worst option because then the merchant does the conversion and the bank tags 1% on top. Only in a few cases where the initial conversion is close to the true rate, DCC makes sense like if you book via SQ and pay in INR, the rate is almost a direct conversion, so better to take INR-DCC rate as compared to the forex-fx rate.
North
Marriot's running a scheme for 45% extra points if you buy points, tempted to buy 10K points - would get 40% extra, making it 14,000 points. Lots of decent Marriot stays at that range, including the Aravali property close to Delhi. Have stayed twice now - its top notch. Has anyone else done it? Also considering getting the HDFC Marriot Bonvoy CC, just tempted to have some nice stays and earn points for that. I do have a bunch of HDFC points as well, typically I'd transfer to Air India Maharaja Club, for domestic flights, but I've heard Accor is the best partner for transfers? Any expert advice? Marriot went through a deval few days ago. Mostly butchered top end properties because the universal daily cap of 150k points was removed. That has had some trickling changes for all the Marriot universe though. Plus the fact that Marriot points bonus hardly provides extended value, I think you might just break even at your cost. You will have to check for dates and exact availability. As for HDFC Marriot, good card especially given the one night award. For the points transfer, depends what card you have and what's the transfer ratio but Accor is not necessarily the best given that HDFC went from 1:1 to 2:1 for a lot of the programs. You shouldn't transfer unless you have a plan, keep them with HDFC and once you have your heart set towards a particular travel, only then think about transferring.

Cool I'll get the Marriot card, the one night by itself is good. but that has a 14K cap I think. So might have to transfer some additional HDFC points into Marriot in the event that the property I wanna book at exceeds the 14K points cost. More if I intend on staying more than one night. I have an HDFC Regalia, Sprinklr is partner with HDFC so the 2500/3000 annual charge gets waived for all employees. Don't have any set travel plans, just wanna take advantage time periods when there is a transfer bonus. Mostly the travel plan for this year is a europe trip, but still in the process of planning it out. Shall I email HDFC CC customer care for an upgrade? How should I proceed? @KunjanPSD 6L in last 3 months, might or might not be valid. Generally the 8L over last 6 months is the valid criteria but worth a try. Send an email to their CC team or priority redressal, not the normal customer care. Also, you need 8L limit on the current card. Even if you have the spends, without the limit they won't process it.
