Also your credit history takes a hit if you have a lot of credit lines? Might be wrong but read somewhere.

It is true. Having ten cards in your wallet for flex is downright silly when you actually use only 2 all the time.

i have lifetime free amex and payment of 4 k in a month gives 1k reward points. the card is lifetime free and gives 7500 inr to me like clockwork every year.

diners club gives 5% back on amazon like clockwork.

other cards are with mom for emergency purchases since im out of station. and another for lounges. what's not to like? i took platinum card with waived off charges for a year and cancelled one day before renewal. ofc took around 5k shopping vouchers from them.

never defaulted till date - took a couple  of no cost emi so that may be one revenue that bank earned from me

2001 - 4 credit cards, maxed out on all. 2002 - Personal loan to pay off cards. Took me until 2006 to actually pay off all the cards and the f**king loan too. It was the worst time. My self loathing was through the roof. I was ashamed and avoided almost all human contact. And 80% of my debt was due to booze. f**king never again. Actually lived hand to mouth and literally one meal a day for a really really long time. But oh boy when I was finally free. As a not very religious person I remember getting off the bus on the way home from work and spending a good half hour sitting and crying and thanking god in church.

You saw the light at the end of the tunnel. That’s what’s important. I have seen 23yr olds work dual jobs sleeping during their breaks to stay alive and conscious. That was shocking and yet a revelation of what ignorance and easy money (that one doesn’t have to begin with) can do to youngsters.

You are missing AMEX :P

Also, try for Onecard. They have the lowest forex charges. I use it primarily when paying in foreign currency, and it's lifetime free. The best part - it's a metal card. Feels super premium, with high aesthetic considerations. I love handing it over offline. Great heft and handfeel.

I had Amex Gold but closed it sometime back, was getting too much to handle so many. Even will swap Elite the moment they tell me they won't make it complimentary, rest are all free :P

Let me try onecard, other one i came very close to get was Axis Bank Flipkart First, thank god lockdown came and they could not pick docs from me.

Yes Exclusive is an amazing card unlimited lounge access, got add on for missus too, both have unlimited lounge access now, though who the f**k is flying these days :P

Lounge access is so common now that I sometimes preferred staying out of the lounge. Too congested, specially Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. Mumbai is the worst offender. Such a small space for every card holder.

Better get Vistara Gold and enjoy the GVK lounge. My gold is going way in Jan.

OTOH, Mumbai T2 is . I don't mind just spending some time roaming along the terminals. Spacious, well lit and well planned, and finding some lonely seating space is never an issue.

@abhinit90

Got the call from ICICI to cancel. Very persistent retention. But pulled it off.
And yes cancelling this doesn’t affect the Amazon Pay card in any manner. Felt bad to break someone’s haret on Xmas but I ain’t no Jesus. :D

:chair:

Did they offer an upgrade/ something. THat's a relief to hear.

She was like. It’s better to have many cards. I’ll make this one lifetime free and you can use this and Amazon pay alternatively.
I didn’t want to argue on the whole idea of how Amazon Pay 5% cash back is better so just plain refused politely. Also my card has that silly 1+1 BookMyShow Offer. Nobody’s right-swiped me on Tinder or Grinder yet till date.

Anyhoo got a message confirming Perma Deactivation
