I start my first job on Monday. I will make north of 1L>month - sharing this info for credit card eligibility.

My primary account is HDFC, my whole family has accounts there. I have FDs with them, and a Regalia card that is linked to my dad's.

I have gotten that closed now, wish to get an independent Regalia. However, there are types - what is Regalia Gold and Regalia first and Regalia business.

which one do I get?

Any other cards I can/should get? My parents primarily spend and accumulate points via Axis Vistara Signature card. I wish to get a card that lets me accumulate points for international travel, we have enough domestic flights with Vistara already.

My primary expenditures - Travel, Eating out, online shopping, fuel?

I do not have to pay rent, or utilities as I will continue to live with my family.  Thank you in advance.

If you have a good relation with HDFC and specially if you have decent amount in FDs you can meet your RM/Branch Manager and push for Infinia or DCB. I am not sure if it will work but worth a try.

Regalia First is below Regalia and Regalia Gold so don't go for Regalia First. But for Regalia vs Regalia Gold this summarizes the features and differences well, you can take a call: https://cardinsider.com/blog/why-should-you-upgrade-to-hdfc-regalia-gold-from-hdfc-regalia/

Okay got it. I think getting the DCB is unlikely, but thats okay, we have one in the house already.

In the HDFC app, i've been getting notifs now that I am eligible for the HDFC Regalia Gold - and from the link you shared, it sounds right for me.

I'll join work on monday, then get the process started.

DCB/Infinia are out of question unless if you have 20L+ FDs, then try for it via your RM and tell him/her that if you don't get them then you will switch FDs to Axis, because they will provide you LTF Axis Magnus with 10L in savings/30L in FD.

RMs are useless though.

Also, mostly you will need 3 salary slips so your mileage may vary but I would say to take whatever you are getting from HDFC to get your CC relationship started, so that you can build history and limit on it, eventually getting to DCB/Infinia.

I mean for now, without any CC history (I don't think add-on cards build history) on your own unless you had DC EMIs, your credit score will be non existent (check it via Gpay or Amazon) or low and will lead to rejections.

Your bank, HDFC, will be your best bet.

Otherwise, I would recommend Axis Atlas, Amex Platinum Travel (requires CC history) and maybe Magnus (won't recommend if you don't already have 30L FD to switch to Axis or don't keep 10L in savings for liquidity).

Anyway, just start somewhere even if it is Amazon ICICI or Scapia.

Guys, need advice on a problem i am having. I used my SBI card to book three rooms on Agoda. It was a single transaction for around 17K. However during my booking, somehow only one room got booked and the other two didn't but my card was charged for full 17K. I cancelled the booking and Agoda told they will refund however I only got around 5.7K refund ie the price of one room. SBI says full 17K was charged and Agoda says they have refunded for all three rooms. I've been ping ponged between these two mofos for a month now. I got the statement last week and they have charged me full so I have pay it to avoid interest. What to do? does credit card have any government complaint portal?

IF agoda says the refunded for all three rooms , file a chargeback against them. also use the consumer court thing against agoda and provide the statment saying 17000 was paid and 5700 was recieved. This is most probably fault from Agodas end as credit card companies have no say in what amount you receive / refund back

Hey guys,

Need some help/info on pre-closing EMI on my HDFC card.

I used my HDFC card with no-cost EMI on flipkart (total cost 60k, with 2600 NCE discount).

I’ve read several times here where many people preclosed the EMIs to save some money.

Should I preclose or pay it monthly?

Preclose , youll save that 2600. Call CC and ask them for charges if any(If they say there are cut and reconnect to other agent)

Sbi Cashback card.

My bill came ~5000 but cashback is only ~120. What gives?

I used it only digitally. Mostly on blinkit, big basket, Zomato, Uber etc

You can pay it monthly ONLY IF you can make a return of more than 15% per annum on the money you’ll be paying over the emi tenure

Yes ultilty is not considered!! What was that utility spend ? I know a work around if its electricity bill or something.

About two rupees the calculation is something like 1% + 4% also per 100 , not per rupee calculation. thats where it got lost lol XD
