Should have happened long time back anyways.

Great addition :)

They wanted to stay independent but money.... ??

Insomniac is a huge studio with multiple teams working on proper AAA projects simultaneously so this is a big big get for them.

Hell Yeah. 5 studios sony must buy next:

5. Quantic Dream

4. Team ICO

3. Remedy

2. Kojima Productions

1. From Software

Kojima is more or less like 1st party developer. Very sure, he wont be part of Sony studios.

Quantic Dreams and Team Ico parted ways with Sony recently. So thats not gonna happen either.

1. Quantic dream contract is over with Sony and let them go. They even allowed them to release their games on pc.

2. Team ico was never officially a studio and are part of Sony Japan. Fumito Ueda new studio is small and most likely sony already signed them up.

3. Remedy acquisition is doubtful. Exclusive ps5 game under wws is most likely happening

4. They're waiting for kojima to show them proper gameplay first. ?

5. Not happening

1. QB will probably run back to Sony after associating with Shite like Activision/MS. QB games are like... made for the ps players.

2. Agreed

3. Remedy makes games that are totally in line with the Sony single player formula. Narrative story driven 3rd person. Its a match made in heaven.

4. Hahaha.lol. I don't think any other AAA publisher will understand or back the way Kojima works.

5. From Software - Fanboy can't dream? Their games are totally in line with the ps ethos. But again here is one developer who got their game published by activision without any meddling, so yeah.

Pretty hard to buy/take over a Japanese studio like From because of strict Govt rules, and its practically impossible for a western corp to buy one (forget abt MS buying Capcom). This is why even Nintendo doesn't buy studios that have been making nothing but 1st party games for them for decades. So many of their games come from these contracted studios.

Must've cost Sony pretty penny because Insomniac might very well be their biggest 1st party studio now.

Ah fascinating, so the Japanese have fdi restrictions and stuff like India too? Cool!

Time to research!

Read this in bloomberg:

In an interview, Shawn Layden, chairman of Sony’s game studios worldwide, said exclusive titles will still be a part of the company’s strategy, but that some games -- particularly multiplayer titles designed to be played on personal computers -- may see broader distribution.

“We must support the PlayStation platform -- that is nonnegotiable,” Layden said. “That said, you will see in the future some titles coming out of my collection of studios which may need to lean into a wider installed base.”

Everyone knew it will happen, except for fanboys here.

Oh Sony will never do it, that's what sells consoles bullshit ?.

They are just setting the narrative for the future when they will eventually end up releasing each and every game on the PC.

True!! since they loose money on almost every console sold. Might as well increase software sales.

But seriously is there any point in owning PS hardware once there are no exclusives?

So you think the 100 million ps console owners will become PC gamers?

console Comfort and convenience > PC gaming.
