True, but it’s also about positioning. With a brand like Stalker, you’d think they’d save updates for a bigger event. Especially since they don’t have too many great AAA exclusives. They could easily position this as one.

Stalker not AAA and its not worth spending AAA marketing budget.

AAA marketing budget they will save for their internal studios games.

Yeah its a self fulfilling cycle of greed when sports bodies get involved with videogame licensing. They see game publishers make billions of dollars, so they raise the licensing fee to astronomical levels, which leads to smaller pubs automatically getting shafted and you have just one publisher having a monopoly by default. Then they make even more billions and share the profits with sports agencies. Everyone's happy, except the actual gamer who gets a slightly better version (if at all) for full price, and a new songs playlist and some flashy new UI.

That actual gamer can choose not to buy every version, but he does .... which feeds to the cycle.  As long as there are people who're ready to pay year after year for slight improvements, can't really blame the companies for making money off it !

Also explains why Rockstar is launching GTA5 on a third console generation rather than focussing on GTA6. Why bother when people are still spending on GTA Online.

And I'll be buying it day one on a third console generation :wallbash:

why even? I bought it on the Pro, spent 45 odd hours on SP campaign - done. Never bothered with Online. Won’t buy on next gen.

The open world is one of a kind. And they’ve (Take 2) hinted that it won’t be a simple graphics-only remaster. Who knows what they’ll add in.

I’m easily pleased.

  3. Double Dragon Neon
  4. Fable II
  5. Fallout: New Vegas
  6. Gears of War 2
  7. Gears of War 3
  8. Gears of War: Judgment
  9. Jetpac Refuelled (touch controls enabled)
  10. Kameo
