The trailer looks more like In-Engine, than In-Game. This is like Agni's Philosophy - which was also advertised as a "Real Time Tech Demo" and was In-Engine. Cinematics like that can be made by the engine. Don't expect Gameplay to look like that though.

Yup. They've explicitly mentioned it as in-engine. There's no way the in-game character model is going to be that ultra-detailed. Would love to be proved wrong though.

Anyway, how f**king awesome is that trailer? Holy sh*t!

Doesn't matter what the specs are. You put that environment in-game and add 2 NPCs or even make the character move, and the frame-rate is going to tank to 2-3 fps, if not outright crash. It's an in-engine trailer and they said so. In-engine means it's literally just using the entire engine to show off it's maximum capabilities. There is a reason that they only showed a cinematic and not actual gameplay.

We are years away from getting that kind of graphics to work properly. Even RTX 2080 ti can't do it and I doubt if even 3080 ti will do it when it comes.

For reference, this is Agni's Philosophy - an in-engine trailer released in 2012. The same kind as the trailer of Senua 2 in 2019

We are still part-way there to realizing it in gameplay in 2016 with Final Fantasy 15. But even now, in 2019 - we can hardly get so many particle effects at the same time on console. It's just possible on PC for now, and that too on high end systems.

You're wasting your time here. Some people don't want to learn and are setting themselves to get spanked once the inevitable downgrade happens.

Deep down is another example btw

Not that straightforward comparison to PCs because their ceiling is held back by consoles and lower end PCs. The 2080 ti in your PC is not used to its fullest potential. Remember PS4 has a 7870 equivalent GPU and still pushes amazing looking games like GoW and Death Stranding. If you give a 2080 ti to SSM/Guerilla and ask them to make exclusive stuff built from ground up to churn all those CUDA cores without worrying about lower common denominator, they'll make insane looking stuff like Hellblade 2.

Agree with you 100%. But the kind of cinematic shown, the lighting used, the environments, the character models - that tech is not here yet. Heck, that cinematic lighting was far above RTX. It was literally photo-realistic.  But NVidia and AMD both are nowhere near perfecting RTX in the first place. They are not even able to get the current RTX at a stable 60 FPS for that matter. And that's with their most premium card (RTX 2080 Ti) for And then they have to add all the other effects. Nope, even focusing 100% on one system - that tech is just not there.

Also you have to consider - the game is releasing on PC as well. And if it's releasing on PC - you don't expect them to make the minimum system requirement of RTX 3080 ti for that, do you (assuming XS1 version is not downgraded - which I'm almost 100% certain it will be)

PS4 and XOne can do incredible things. I'm awed by GoW, RDR2, Spiderman and UC4 - which PS4 was able to pull off with a mid 2013/2015 hardware. But that's the case here

Unless MS has some super-secret super computer hardware, they developed very secretly without anyone knowing and adding to the XS1 - you are not going to be playing a live version of Planet Earth 2 any time soon. Also, my GPU is a 1080ti. But it's very easy to find out the bench-marks of all GPUs including the 2080ti.

Neh boi, specs higher than that are already in my PC. Just not RT.

Well, if the rumors are true, the games will be made based on lower version of the next gen console. The higher version is just to give 4K fidelity.

His pc gpu is obsolete compared to Series X and he knows it too.

PS5 and seriesX both gonna have better gpu than what he got. His 2 lakh pc about get outclassed by 500$ consoles.

I was just messing with Roun90. :P

I know actual gameplay will look not exactly one to one to this trailer but it will be damn close and huge leap over current gen.Im 100% sure that ingame cutscenes will look exactly like the trailer even in final game coz cutscenes use higher quality assets than game.

And don't forget Hellblade is very linear game with not much happening on screen, so they can pack lot of details in it.
