Try "Shadow In The Cloud". Surprisingly good movie. I started watching it while having diner and it kept me hooked till the end. Not a single boring scene beyond first 10-15 mins. Though there are some outrageous Rajnikant kinda stunts in the movie but overall, good fun movie to watch.

LOL I’ve been a bumbling idiot then, and have been avoiding excel discs too, since I believed them to be inferior. Have never purchased any other Indian Blu ray, and won’t, specifically for the reasons you mentioned.

Where do you pick up the BDs from usually?

Nah, anything by Excel is perfectly safe and very high quality. Just order them off Amazon. A few of us here have built very good libraries off of just Amazon (and Flipkart back in the day) :D I also have people carry titles that aren't locally available over from the US/UK, but I'd say 75% of my library is locally sourced (and published by Excel).

And I get why you'd be turned off. I ordered one PVR blu back when they launched and set up an Amazon return as soon as the it started playing. It was awful, lol.

This isn't official, just fan sites picking info from each other. I had tried to find the Hollywood reporter article which everyone is calling their source but couldn't find it. News is probably false.

I wish everyone did this in general :/

Sputnik, pretty good. Probably the most polished Russian film I've seen. Production quality, acting are top notch.

Watched it a couple of months ago and was disappointed by it. Has great cinematography and visual effects but is let down by weak screenplay and direction.

It showed so much promise in the beginning :(

This completely slipped from my radar somehow. Looks really good.

Thanks for recommending Shadow in the clouds guys. I did not know this movie existed. Really enjoyed it. Silly, over the top, illogical fun!

Sometimes, watching a 4 star rated movie is better than watching some highly rated ones!

Glad you liked it. Some people read too much into the ratings. Sometimes you just need to read a bit of synopsis about a movie and give it a chance. Not every movie needs to be a oscar nominee.

Agreed on Sputnik. Excellent premise, and it was really good until mid-way when it turned into a

shoe-horned love story. Also, those segments with the kid were completely useless

. The production values were excellent, though.

I have His House on my watchlist too. It looks great!

Watch Sound of Metal. Really loved it. A pretty solid slice of life type movie dealing with acceptance. Riz Ahmed really knocked it out of the park in this movie.

Tried watching Mank but got pretty bored halfway through.

AK vs AK I turned off midway. Was pretty horribly overacted.

Excellent film.

And speaking of Prime Video - there's also the Small Axe anthology from Steve McQueen. Pretty sure they're all good. Not sure it's on Indian Prime Video, though.

Watched 21 and 22 Jump street yesterday and boy, what a wild ride it was. Haven't laughed like a maniac in a long time, both the movies were hilarious. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum killed it (and Ice cube too, don't wanna make him angry). 10/10 recommended.YZ8ZFw9.jpg

I'd take Shazam, WW, Aquaman, Joker, etc over any MCU movies except maybe Winter Soldier. Even Infinity War was a snooze on re-watch.

But yes they need better quality control. It basically ranges between execs meddling the absolute everliving f**k out of the movie (SS and JL) and them just giving complete freedom. There needs to be a balance.

Yes true.

Also for some wierd reason WB is hell bent on making Suicide squad mainstream. Not sure whose balls Margot Robbie has clenched in her fists:P

Thor Ragnarok is better than anything from DCEU for me. DC is too afraid to go full comic book-y like that. I don't ever see them pulling off big events like Infinity War at this point. MCU built the universe so much in their first decade, DCEU spent their first decade doing nothing and introducing weird retcons lol. They are not even on the same level.
