Ohh yeah. The scene in LOTR 3 where Aragon brings up the dead in the fight in the last moment. Cheesiest scene, but I still get Goosebumps seeing it just like that Avengers scene. Sad not everyone get to enjoy these kind of goosebumpy scenes.

Horses for courses!

Which never happens in the book. PJ's addition because Ghost Army and "Rule of Cool". Same with the Elf Army in Two Towers. Also same with the martial arts/one man army Legolas. In the books - he's actually the one who achieves the least out of everyone in the Fellowship, which in itself signifies that the Elves are fading.

Which could've all been avoided if they only used the eagles :fap:

Eagles are also vulnerable to the Ring.

That's the thing. Did Tolkien even address the plot hole with a specific reason? I read the books way too long ago to remember, but I don't think he did :D

Spoiler

It was there, including in supplementary materials (Letters of Tolkien). Tom Bombadil was the only one in ME on whom the Ring did not have any effect at all. The Hobbits were the ones who were resistant to the Ring - that was because they were generally content with their life, and did not have grand ambitions. The Eagles do not fit in this category of not having much ambitions. Also, Letters from Tolkien state - at the Chamber of Mount Doom, where the Ring was made, no one in ME had the capability to resist the Ring (Unless they were above Sauron like the Valar/Maiar greater than Sauron/Eru Illuvatar a.k.a God).

This is not taking into account that the Eagles carrying the Ring will be very much visible, and Sauron did have his own anti-air defences, such as his own flying beasts and an army full of beings capable of shooting things out of the sky.
