Yikes, they can't catch a break! The Flash movie is cursed at this point. So many delays, lot of writers and directors leaving due to creative differences and now all this drama.

Dude, where's your review of ulaga nayagan's new movie ? Yay / Nay ?

Haha gave a very short review, the second day after the movie released. Guess you missed it :D

If you haven't gotten around to watch it yet, I would say please don't waste any more time. The movie is great, nice plot(ties up with Khaidi movie) predictable in places, but the action,  presentation and bgm is top-notch!

All the 3 actors get equal roles, and they all easily proved why they're the best in the business. And Suriya steals the show in the end.

The movie has broken all TN 2022 box-office records. And it still has potential to get into all-time top 3 (TN). So glad that Kamalhassan got a big one before end of his career, its long overdue.

Hollywood obviously needs China but are now too tired to give in to their censorship demands.

Spiderman no way home could have easily made 300/400 mil dollars in China to make it 3rd highest grosser of all time. But Sony didn't release it because of censorship demands from Chinese government in few scenes .

Yeah same with Topgun Maverick.

The trailer didnt have the Taiwan flag on the jacket (the original had it) but when the movie released it actually did. That guarantees the movie will not release in China. Could've earned another 100-200 million from there (though given the content, maybe not).

So you're the guy who cries in Titanic.

Girls (nibbis) must be admired by you.

They aren't 'too tired' lol. China is just not letting Hollywood movies play. Especially Disney films. NWH wasn't allowed because they asked Sony to remove the Statue of Liberty which meant re-doing the whole climax of the movie which was impossible.

They added it back in only after China didn't allow the movie.

Reality can be a bit more complicated.

Tl;dr? I had a quick glance and the author of the article is apparently saying that China isn't even mentioned in Top Gun and this is a sign of Beijing's power? By that logic, Top Gun doesn't mention India either, so I guess Hollywood is scared of us too?

The point is that a movie about elite airforce division does not mention China even though it's US' no 1 rival and called a threat by politicians and defence personnel. It's also heavily implied that the unnamed enemies are Chinese. They're just scared mention it.

Uh... no. From what I understand, the unnamed enemy country was an amalgamation of a bunch of countries. The best guess from a lot of people was Iran, not China.

Quick glances can cause confusion.

The article primarily says that adding a Taiwan flag has nothing to do with China. There have been incidences in the past when such incidents have been ignored, and movies have been allowed to run in China.

Bottomline: China does not want you to know which movies can be banned or allowed, keeping everyone confused, and thus unable to take a decision and bow down to whatever CCP demands.

I guess China doesn't also want Hollywood movies stealing limelight and box office money from their own movies. And they have been banning biggest blockbusters like NWH because of random "reasons". Although stuff like Strange 2 would have never released there because of horror elements/black magic and Top Gun is like the biggest "f**k yeah, 'merica" movie about American forces.

That can't be right lol. Taiwan flag was something that was present in the original Top Gun. What other reason would they have to remove it except China? After Tencent backed out and China started being confusing like you said, they added it back in.
