Nothing trigerring. I guess people just need something to get triggered about. Its a f**king movie with lots of violence, some sex and complex relationships. And absolutely legendary acting.  Watch it on theatres. Kirkire ne to dil pe le liya. Someone tell him about the epic songs in the movie which elevate the scenes and emotions.

I swear to God most 90s movies are 100% more trigerring than Animal. All this BC is on Twitter. Reality main housefull movie hai bhai - just go watch it.

I wonder if any of these idiots see Tarantino movies or flicks like Babylon and get similarly triggered. Much ado about nothing.

Go without expectations - remember the movie is about a guy who would do anything for his dad - and see it from that perspective.

Cool. Quit twitter a year back - best decision of my life. It is more toxic than vs thread I swear. :P

I think their major complaints for both movies are that the guy still gets a happy ending even after being like an a**hole and villain and misogynist throughout.

See Kabir Singh had rape depictions and I get why it can be an issue, obviously it is a movie and people look for an excuse to get riled up. I don't think there is anything of that sort in this movie which is what is surprising or maybe there is which I am not aware of, anyway will catch it soon in a theatre.

Oh I agree. But they found the OG Jamal Jamaalo song which plays during Bobby Deol's entry and goddamn he absolutely killed it ! Song is apparently more than 2 decades old. :O

He doesn't get a happy ending. The ending where his sons cries and hugs him is unfinished as we don't know what happens after. Won't go much into spoilers.

The misogyny part - I'm sorry, fail to see it. Marriage is consensual, all sex is consensual, he has been shown to have short fuse right from the start. There is some BDSM which some feminists might have taken for abuse ? As I said, relationship are complex, not some reddit fantasy, and the movie does capture the complexity from many angles. Would love to have a discourse on the movie instead of black and white opinions as I think it is feral movie inspite of all the editing and flow issues (and insane plot).

Also the scene with Rashmika Mandanna when RK comes and tells her about

Spoiler

having sex with Tripti, and the reasons behind it. And the bombshell question - did you use a condom ? Destroyed RK's alpha man ! Rashmika killed it in that scene.

Agreed about consensual relationship and complexity part. Vanga also said that probably none of these critics have been in a proper romantic relationships before so they don't even understand how stuff works in real life.

Most of the people especially on reddit etc have never ever been in a real relationship before and they are the ones that make most noise about how a relationship should be. It's laughable really. Most of them, especially the guys don't even know how a woman truly in love behaves with them and what she expects. Sad state.

Been a while since I saw a movie where the quality of two halves was so contrasting. First half of Animal was really good, second half was so mediocre. Sloppy editing, poor pacing, illogical sequence of events. Overall movies was ok/fine. Could have been so much better.

I feel the opposite. While the first half delivers all the action, the second half is where RK/AK shine with their acting chops. Felt it would have been another Rambo without the emotional part, specially the to and fro between AK and RK towards the end. The way RK seamlessly moved between father and son roles during that scene - amazing !
Illogical sequence to poori movie hai.

Some scenes are well done no doubt. Acting is great no doubt. But 2nd half still feels weirdly put together with poor pacing, editing and screeplay. When I say illogical, i mean despite it being the kind of movie it is. Some stuff and how they happen/are presented makes little sense. Movie could have been so much better if it was 30 mins shorter and second half was tighter. It dragged so much that the final emotional sequence felt flat imo. It didn't have thr impact it should have despite great acting.

I'd say she was equally alpha, like Kiara's character in Kabir Singh. Like him, she doesn't bitch out. To me, apart from the manifested actions, the feelings that the actions originate from within Ranvijay's character are genuine values. He was super masculine, and super sensitive, super caring, and there was a maturity within him, as in Kabir Singh, that came about.

It was in the way

Spoiler

he conjured his Sikh cousins, the way he (off camera, descriptive) got his wife through her pregnancy, how he walks with the grandfather, with hands folded in submission, while his shoulder was a support, how he was the only positive, almost upbeat character in the second half in face of extreme personal adversity, and even offers Abrar an chance at survival and redemption, after beating him, how he hugs his sis after hearing that call, etc.

This is also why I loved the second half.

"Bure Sher ki char khoobiyaan".

I loved the second half too, but for very different reasons. It was how the same capable character, the same alpha, super sure of himself, who does these outlandish super masculine and incredible things, was put into this spot which was adversarial in a whole different way, and the way he deals with it.

Spoiler

"so get me a new heart". There's no hesitation. He was going to live, and he was going to do what he had to do. It was also how much he could take, like he did all this sh*t when the wife needed, but she couldn't put up with him when he needed her. "main din main 50 baar pad badalta hoon".

This is why

Spoiler

the whole nude walk totally made sense. It was like the automatic weapon carrying kid in school. It was his kind of thing to do.

Honestly, the only misogynist and slimy character was the jija, and we know what happened there.

I genuinely love the movie. It has so much depth. Vanga is super smart, and more importantly, has original intellect. I love what Animal is, and I love it for being an original work to come out of India that blew me away right from the trailer.

As a cinematic experience, it is second to none.

Just back from animal. incredible first half and slightly slowish second half. Loved it overall but could’ve been edited a lot better & the screenplay could’ve been a lot tighter. Also some of the scenes are added to just trigger his critics. Didnt find anything misogynistic though. & rashmika is a pretty strong character herself don’t understand the problem some of these jokers have. Actually  if she was shown as smoking and getting high in every scene and sleeping with anil kapoor or RK’s bodyguards these guys would have loved it.

i know the original length of the film was around 4hrs and was trimmed down for release and during the end credit i saw someone listed as “young abrar haq” & i definitely didnt see him in the movie. Would have preferred they added that part and remove some filler in the 2nd half. Would like to see the backstory of those characters and the feud.

highlight of the movie is the father son relationship. Everytime RK and AK are together on screen the movie is on another level and that ending sequence 😢. Anyone who has had a turbulent relationship with father will instantly get connected to the scenes. Hoping for the uncut version on streaming platform

First of all idk anything about this movie, not my cup of tea. But want to say one thing that majority of bollywood movies are made through male's perspective from the very beginning of the bollywood. My female friends make me realised it during my college years and since then i cant help myself but keep judging the movie from this angle, they were fcking right.

Though I haven't watched the movie yet but can you throw some light on this? How a woman truly in love behaves and expects?
