100 min was the hook of the film for theatrical experience with the score the highlight ( Cousins intro scene, Ranbir Range Rover intro, Freddy Intro ) rest 40min was more Kabir Singh with Tripti and Rashmika arcs which were useless.

Bobby Could have been used better.

Same feelings….

As if the Director got limited dates of Anil Kapoor & Bobby Deol or paid pretty much less to lower the budget & the movie hardly focuses on the Father Son relation or the Cold Blooded Animosity advertised in the promos.

So he decided to fill up the entire movie with out of no where masculinity sequences to get cheap reactions from Dude Bro Launda crowd.

Bobby Deol specially after so much hype & promotions about him being the real super star after this is just another goon that could have been played by pretty much any side actor without even an ounce of change in quality of this movie.

This is infact the perfect example of how something so trivial can be promoted into something godly just my marketing & cheap un coordinated pleasure sequences towards a particular targeted audience.

Also honestly the kind of ‘adult’ jokes they tried were so flat and unnecessary. Specifically, the sequence with the underwear which RK had with his staff was super weird and uncalled for or the therapist when he has just recovered and sitting with his entire family and doctors. They just put in these weird sex talks or underwear/penis jokes for the shock value I guess ?

They are targeting the dumb dude bro audiences obviously.

But it’s like totally bad acting & non sensicle delivery.

Kabir Singh & Shahid Kapoor were miles ahead & had a clear co relation with the Story being told & a clear vision of art.

Interesting, the first 100 min hooked me like a drug.

While I liked the first half, it was the second half that hooked me. Ranbir's acting is so on point. He doesn't break his character for a single moment - the absolute madlad Vijay you see at the start has only evolved in the mids and towards the end.

Some of the scenes of course are just "there". Made in India weapons, that long winding action scene etc.

Didn't watch it on OTT, don't want to ruin the theater experience I had. Really liked it then.

Saw the intro scene like 5 times already. Those Roja drums are tits.

Saw fighter yesterday, late night show in IMAX but it was house full. TLDR: 9/10 movie, one of the best performances from Hrithik. This movie will go on to become a cult classic defense movie like Border was in 90s.

I was worried about the VFX quality due to budget but that was the biggest surprise, Sid Anand managed to deliver a top notch experience of Air Combat at a fraction of budget that Hollywood movies have. Liked the comradery between the team and it was shown nicely in first quarter of the movie. Pacing was pretty quick till interval then it gets a bit slow and emotional but its much needed due to story. Last 30 minutes are just chefs kiss. Keeps you on the edge of your seats and its a pure joy to see the combat in a bollywood movie. Some dialogues were borderline cringy but works due to patriotism and did get the crowd in my theatre shouting and hooting. All the actors have done a fantastic job and chemistry between HR and DP was very evident, it is just fire. From a high level, the story might feel like a mash up of few plot points from both top gun movies with Pakistan agenda thrown in but similarities end right there. Meat of the movie is in the all the smaller subplots that are going and work very well together. People who are worried about some steamy scenes between HR and DP as trailers suggest can rest easy, you can peacefully go with your family, only steamy scene is in a song and it has been edited out of movie so it plays during credits. So you can finish movie with family and walk out :P

Just finished watching Animal. It's an okay-ish one time watch movie.

The run time goes totally against it. I feel that's the worst part of the movie. Some of the scenes could've been totally omitted. Good performances, overall. Lord Bobby should've had more screen time obviously.

Don't get the whole "feminist"-thingy controversy surrounding it, at all. Our society just can't accept flawed characters on celluloid.

The useless chatter online obviously helped the movie gain more traction, in terms of the business it did, than it warranted.

Having said all that, you gotta give it to Vanga, though. If he has a certain vision, he is all-in!

It’s not about the character…..it’s about putting things just for the sake of it & not having any real story to tell as to why that character is what he is.

Kabir Singh did that beautifully & had a character evolution tied to the script of the film.

Here it feels like there is just no script & things are being said/shown for the sake of it.

Kinda makes a thinking audience even more angry as to how the director just took the cheap route of pleasing the dumb audience & extract money from them & also did some pretty huge false marketing about how “cool” the story he is about to tell is.

This could have been a great movie indeed if it was actually about Family rivalry instead of useless sequences.

& on top of that Add Pindus to please that crowd, add a Marathi character to please that crowd….add a sexy south indian character to please that crowd….even though she has trouble in Hindi delivery.

This shows that sadly Bollywood is completely on Hollywood’s footsteps on this please max attitude with adding things just for the sake of it to gather as much sects of society as possible……though they definitely lack the story script motivation!!

Anybody who watches Animal on their TVs is doing a great disservice to the experience. The theatre feel when certain things unfold (like the first "kill") are unmatchable on the small screen.

I knew anyone on OTT wouldn't like it and then regurgitate their opinions as generalizations.

Maybe this was never meant with OTT audiences in mind.

Only a certain kind of cinema audience.

My bad I saw the trailer & got my hopes up for meaningful story telling.

Specially with ace actors like Anil Kapoor & Ranbir Kapoor.

Bruh I just realised someone named the track  "Killing Jeeja". WTF.

IIRC, the track is ripped off from another moviw or game (can't remember the name).

It is heavily "inspired" from John Wick. One of the backgrounds for shooting. I think John Wick 4.
