Saw Final Destination, was getting bored sitting alone at my hotel in KL and saw it was running in a theatre next to my hotel. Went blind with no expectations and without seeing any trailers. It is a pretty well made movie, with the usual FD stuff to kill people. It was a decently well spent 2 hrs.

Watching a FD movie in a theatre and having fun while at it, u seemed super bored

Don't forget short form content consumption through reels and YT shorts. People have no reason to leave the house and  spend money on tickets  and travel on a below average /average film.

Absolutely

Anybody been to PVR recently? I saw Final Reckoning there and WTF happened to the sound? I don't go to theater that much now but I remember it used to be loud. Like really loud. I am pretty sure it's not the movie but rather the theater. Music was very low and took all the fun from main theme of MI movies. Dialogues were fine and clear but I think they have deliberately put the volume low in the movie. Ads were super loud though.

PVR and Inox is good here, but yes, ad sound and ad duration was insane.

Also, asked for a combo of Pepsi and popcorn for 1 person (small) and the guy quoted 1010 Rs. I said no thanks. f*** you!

Even I stopped going out to theatres. Only for AAAA movies like Avatar I will go.

Far more peaceful at home, way cheaper, variety of choices, and save money and time (i.e from getting stuck in traffic and buying unwanted stuff in mall)

It's a worldwide thing - Theatres are losing money.

Yup, i go once in a while when misus wants 2, otherwise my type of movies come rarely (like transformers, avtar, them big a*s movies), I have now left those stupid a*s franchises to see theatre, like those of fast n furious n sheet, completely ho,e viewing of such money grabbers :roflroll:

Which one did you go to? DLF MoI has upgraded a bunch of stuff, better than Logix. Their IMAX also has better sound (no recliners though). PXL is also decent, and if you've money to splurge, Gold is the way to go.

Normal PVR. Imax is quite far from my home. Must be this one only.

And I have been avoiding theaters as well. Used to go for all major movies before Covid, but since last few years, I have only been to theaters like 5-6 times, that's it. I don't know why, it seems like a hassle to me rather than going there to relax and chill. Maybe I have been lazy or just do not find time. But I can easily wait 6-8 weeks to watch.

Ticket prices, in all honesty I believe are fair. Everything has become expensive, ticket prices are on par. Like 200-300 rs. Ticket for a normal non Imax theater is fair IMO.

What is surprising, is that earlier we used to think meal prices were exorbitant, but at those times it was 250-300 per pop corn/Nachos. 90-100 rs for a small Pepsi. Now 300-400 rs for a small Pepsi!

Still got 250 Rs. Belgian fries as it only sold at PVR and it has been long time for me. In contrast, ticket pice was 200 + 30 Rs.

yes, food n beverages usually are best avoided at moviplexes, its like, chaar aane ki murgi and barah aane ka masala

oh and another reason i avoid going to movie hall is that we have to fk'n pay for parking (this should be included in the goddamn ticket)

I recommended Its Whats Inside to my elder siblings, but they found it below average. In return, they recommended Mulholland Drive to me. I had already heard a lot of praise for it but never tried watching it and had no clue about the story until today.

I had to call them after the movie ended, they had to explain the movie to me. Idk what to say about the movie, let me know about yr first experience with the movie. And if anyone hasn't seen the movie yet, try it and find out for yourself, Im not gonna say anything.

So, mission Impossible:final reckoning over the weekend.  The movie was good, but you need severe suspension of disbelief to actually enjoy the movie.  I mean, even the previous mission Imposible movies had some ridiculous stunts, but this takes it to a whole new level. Nevertheless, I found it to be a good entertaining movie and it also pays nice tribute to all the previous movies and characters in the series.

For me, the best part was when a small section of the theatre started hooting and cheering the appearance of Mr. Milichick from severance…. that was a completely unexpected cameo

Ya I also saw Final Reckoning. It wasn't as good as last but good end to the series. Too much exposition and lot of random bs that seems way too unbelievable even if we suspend entire disbelief. First half was snoozefest. I liked how they tied up previous movies as best as they could.

For me, it was downright disappointing! One of the weakest in series. My main problem was lack of espionage sequence in the movie. All previous movies had this amazing espionage sequence where the entire team work together get some item or achieve some result.

Good thing was that despite being almost 3 hours movie, it did not feel long or dull. And it has its tense moment, but they were all underwater which kinda took the fun away.

Overall a decent watch but disappointing.

Ya the underwater stuff was boring af. The last plane action sequence was thrilling.

Found the underwater stuff to be decent till Tom Cruise did...that to get out of torpedo shaft. That was...just lame. Not just suspension of disbelief but also physics.

1st 30 mins were absolute snooze fest. Still kinda enjoyed FWIW.

Saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. A movie that's been on my watchlist for a long time.

It was pretty good. Loved the concept and how time story was told. Also funny to see all of the smaller actors in that movie have become super famous now

watched HIT - The Third case on flix, then i saw The Second Case then the 1st one. i saw the one with Rajkumar Rao (it's the remake of the same South movie), somehow i felt the South version seems to be better). LOVED the 3rd one. only the 3rd is on flix, 1st and 2nd are on prime

the south version of the first film is miles better. Bollywood just changed the motive completely to some weird LGBTQ agenda. The south version had no such BS and the motive of the killer was well done.
