Coincidentally, Test nbs for last two days aren’t available. The new BMC commissioner seems to have got his orders. They also allowed thousands of people to leave for MP on Auto-rickshaws and Tempos. HCQ is being given to frontline healthcare staff in India and is causing a lot of side effects so I guess has been discontinued in India as well. although i agree that some medicines like Favipiravir (again cheap to manufacture) are being suppressed in favor of Remdesivir. Remdesivir is supposed to be administered thru an IV line whereas Favipiravir comes in a pill form. in case remdesivir proves to be better then I am sure a lot of countries will just show the middle finger to patent protection and just go ahead and manufacture it to keep the costs low. It is being repurposed as a treatment for something for the 3rd time. from what I have read I get the feeling that how we found tamilflu as an effective treatment for swine flu likewise favipiravir seems to be a strong candidate for Covid 19 Treatment. A bigger cluster f**k is yet to come. There is a quarantine center near my place which is a green zone within Pune. Next the people who came back on those vande bharat flights have been quarantined at a hotel right opposite that center. Now they are planning a 10k temporary bed hospital at the opposite stadium. I am thinking of moving to my parent's house at Aundh. Already one positive case escaped from the quarantine center. A disaster is waiting to happen. No one is criticising the MH govt, even mildly, let alone asking for his resignation. The paid journalists are openly suggesting to handover Mumbai to Centre in order to "escape responsibility". MH which has 40% population that of UP, is having 8 times more cases than UP. Bangalore has same population as Pune, but Pune has 3 times as many cases than entire Karnataka.
