They should be prosecuted the same regardless of how many end up being infected.  What they have done (hosting an extravagant wedding when gatherings over 50 people were banned AND knowingly letting a potentially infected person roam around) is bad enough.

Charge them for the little things also, like using the roads for setting up a dinner hall without permission.

Unfortunately contact tracing might have reached its limits now. Police yesterday went to my wife's village and sealed off a portion because one of the make up artists from the wedding was from there. Another bunch of relatives from our village was present and active for all 3 days at the wedding, highly likely they caught it too but not sure if police have reached out yet. Despite there being only 1000 odd cases, threat feels very real and immediate now.

Other than 2-3 visits to doctor and testing clinic, our family has stayed at home since last Friday. We are going to run out of some groceries items in 2-3 days, but I'm worried about even going out for that now.

@Walker: Nothing in the media? Like, have any news reporters been able to get any statement from the concerned authorities or something?

There was some report in NDTV a day or two back. Not sure what happened in the report since I haven't seen it. The authorities are saying there is enough supplies though I have yet to see anything on the ground or have heard from anyone I know. Some guys got beaten down my lane last evening apparently so now no one is going out to shops anymore. Honestly where I am right now I'm not really sure of the situation since we live pretty deep inside from the main road and no one from our colony has been able to go check.

Just to be clear this is not everywhere. Some areas have everything working smoothly. Some areas have nothing, and there are some news coming in that some supplies were diverted to relations etc. Not sure what is true or what is not. I just know what I have experienced over the last week.

My uncle who lives in Madgaon has been facing the same issues you described. Really sad state of affairs.

@Walker you guys need to reach out to Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, he will have it sorted.

Local leadership of BJP is poor in Goa, but can be shaken up from the top. Bagga is well connected and very approachable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't your councilor already come through twice before this?:fear1:

No offense, Im kinda finding it funny now. :P:P

I guess the local leadership is shaky, because on multiple counts you informed us that they've started with the grocery delivery process, and ab sab kuch sorted; but then after 24 hours you have no clue what they're doing, and nobody's getting any groceries.

Not sure what their roadblock is but they need to get it figured out.

Read my posts again. They've been saying they will be starting but nothing ever happens. This is the first time we have got anything concrete in over a week. I've never said things were fine.

Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound accusatory. I meant something similar, I didn't realize that nothing was concrete before this.

All I remembered was that you updated with a post twice or so, but later you informed that no action had been taken yet.

I hope with this text from the Councilor that deliveries start asap, and people get over their worries.

@Walker Sorry about that man.

Do update when your items are delivered to your door. I hope their system for delivering is efficient enough to get the essentials to all families that have been waiting, and they can finally get a bit of relief.

A local supermarket has closed their doors to customers and now only accepts orders over phone/Whatsapp. They get your order ready and call you to pick it up at a specific time. Good move.

Most grocery shops are doing this in my area as well. You can put in your order over whatsapp, and the guy gives you a token number and a time. He'll have your items ready in a bag near the shop so you can just come take it then.

Also, preferring digital payment methods as well, so you can pre-pay you order via PayTM or UPI and then just come and pick it up.

Proper explanations based on facts about how and why China is responsible. This man is a true libertarian journalist, so there is no political bias.
