I would recommend saving your money for medicines, food and some stock. They would either run out or heavily inflated. Who knows if the virus will become a major pandemic.

Btw :hi2: for telling this to people on the very first page even if it was made fun of back then.

  • France dumped 23K+ new cases yesterday making it 100K+ cases in 24 hours.
  • France overtake China by 25K+.
  • US number of cases continues to rise. Another day with 30K+ cases.
  • Italy stable week of ~4K cases per day.
  • 23 new cases in India.

Is 23 cases valid? Read news saying its 300+

@Walker
I have seen many people being benefited for various ailments with Homeopathy, it gets far more abuses than it deserves. No one claims that it can cure cancer.
And if you find one such numbnut, you could also find shady folks who practice allopathy. In fact, if I remember correctly, advertising for cure is a crime when not mentioned without caveats, like fairness creams.

Anyone who comes up with a claim with any kind of medicine should be asked to hold a clinical trial, and that should be the process.

Then he is either held a hero or he goes to Jail.

The website from where it is posted resets at GMT+0. So Previous India numbers ideally you can see by clicking on Yesterday

Below is that website btw.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus

Also they have added Testing statistics now in the website but it shows ~116000 tests for india.

Last i heard it was just around 69K. Not sure how reliable the test counts are.

There is no such thing as allopathy. What we have is modern medicine. Allopathy is a term used by alternative medicine quacks to box modern medicine as just one type of medicine system.

Homeopathy has never been shown to work in any clinical trials. All is does is the placebo effect.

You are right. The page is updated daily at GMT+0.  India apparently had ~529 cases on April 4.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first time with a 1000+ deaths in one day, that too in two countries - US and France?

@Joe Cool Also, didnt US cross 100K cases just a couple days back? Their graph must be climbing like anything, for I didn't even realise they had hit 300K.

100K on March 27.

200K on April 1.

300K on April 4.

USA always number 1. ?

Homeopathy is good enough to fix vitamin deficiencies and that's it. It cures other minor illnesses by "placebo" effect. You get cured by your own psychology, positivity and the mental strength, which is derived from the belief that you are taking a good homeopathic medicine. Its similar to Raki and pranic healing and other BS form of alternative medicine/healing.

Honestly, I'm not surprised.

Entire media, politicians even doctors are responsible for making Corona look like it is just a flu.

When they blocked the flights from China in January, people were calling it racist.

Homeopathy works on principles that go against everything we know about modern science. The the homeopathic medicines are diluted to the point where there are no active ingredients remaining in the final product. One cannot be cured with just sugar and water. They only work on the placebo effect.

As for the name allopathy, it was coined by the inventor of homeopathy himself. Homoepathic doctors used it to paint homeopathy and allopathy as 2 competing belief systems, whereas they are nothing similar. The name has since spread to other alternative medicine practitioners and even some doctors use it unknowingly. This is a common technique, especially in politics or religion to coin names to distort and misrepresent the other side.

Placebo is very real thing and can be used to treat people. Thing is it only works as long as you don't know its a placebo. Like Dr Strange said, once they tell you what happens (like in  Homeopathy), its not going to happen :P

There is a homeopathy clinic right next to my house. He charges around 1500 per session and gives 10-15 days worth medicine/sugar pills. People are lined up till 11pm sometimes and he has a Google rating of 4.8.

Recommended a friend to go there who had continuous cough ( before covid) last year for months and couldn't get it cured. He went to everyone from his family physician to a specialist, got x-ray and all other tests done and still had no relief. Finally visited this guy and got fixed in 2 sessions. Call it placebo or pseudoscience but some people respond to such treatment.

Placebo effect is indeed real and same is true for its opposite nocebo effect.

Afterall it is the minimum benchmark for comparing if the medicine is actually effective or not. If an entire medicinal system relies on this only, then it is not very effective. Also this works with ailments that the body is capable of healing from by itself, like cold, upset stomach, headaches, etc. For serious illnesses you need real medicines.

Some other similar effects are that if you tell someone that a particular wine is expensive, it will taste better.

What ! Homeopathy is so cheap.

40 rs (maybe now would be 80-100 rs)

it used to be per visit along with medicines of two days.

Oh yeah. My doctor is pretty similar. He charges 500 bucks, medicine for a week.

We visit the guy every other week, so we don't have any appointment issues (my grandmom has issues with her knees).

But there are always 10 people waiting. He gives time slots like 7:10, 7:25, 7:45, and people queue up every evening.

He is super rude by the way. Really rude. Still everybody comes to the guy, including me.

He isn't rude exactly, just arrogant. He's 70 something, but man's got plenty of blood boiling.

If people ask for medicine for two weeks, he goes like "Perhaps you should consult a different doctor, because thats not how we do things here. The door is that way."
