Yes, also started with mustard oil.

Written kachi ghani on it and it's cheap as well.

For light cooking, olive pomace oil won't do ?

Written suitable for indian cooking.

Cheap and cold pressed don't go together, unless the label explicitly says all oil is cold pressed.

They might have added few drops of cold pressed oil and said it's kachi ghaani for all we know. :P

Cold pressed mustard is around 200 INR+ a litre.

I doubt the same.

(Mind would doubt for the 200rs ones as well though)

Talking about patanjali and fortune at 145/litre.

Ok, thanks, right now have ordered pomace 5lt.

Thinking of cancelling it.

Yes, mustard is great and cheap.

Should definitely consume mustard oil in winters for sure.

You are paying for chemically extracted oil from oilve leftovers. they first extract their extra virgin and regular olive oil and then whatever is left they process it using a lot of chemicals to extract the doodh out of the makkhi. naturally such things would end up in India and sold at a higher price point than our regular vegetable oils.

for 1300 you can easily buy 10 ltrs of very good quality peanut or sunflower oil.

Do you suggest extra light olive oil in comparision ?

(That's not from leftovers and is 850 for two litres)

Need for cooking, so no for extra virgin as its expensive as well and not suitable for frying?

I don't know but it's been recommended to use olive oil for cholesterol ?

Just a marketing thing ?

You should probably look at olive oil production.

Tons of discussions on olive oil fraud. Most likely almost all commercially available olive oil can be adulterated.

As long as you're reasonably active and maintain a balanced diet, it doesn't really matter all that much.

Not for me.

It will be tried for the sake of changing it.

if it was me I would just stop eating oil and salt.

Now it is this basically, have to order one olive oil.

So for now, I am asking should I buy :

pomace olive oil at 1280 - 5 litre

or

extra light olive oil at 850- 2 litre

I'm thinking adulterated hi Lena hai to pomace wala sasta lo ?

extra light kaunsa better hoga or is it ?

I don't think even extra light is true olive oil. True olive oil is extra virgin variety.

If you wanna do it for cholesterol then the ranking is

1.White butter

2. Ghee or Extr Virgin olive oil

3. Everything else.

Actually, mustard Kacchi ghani is available for cheap.

Dhaara is 150, and I remember buying it for 90 last year.

Mustard Kacchi Ghanis can be found in hamlets all over India.

Its just that they are rarity in Metros and big cities and everyone buys pouches from super markets.

when I was a kid & we lived in Bihar for couple years, we used to get it mustard oil in those steel containers with handles from nearby Ghanis.

back home in MP in my grans place,  I remember getting Groudnut/Sesame oil from Ghanis same way

I know they can be available for cheap in tier 2 towns, but not in metros.

Back in Lucknow, we used to get mustard oil extracted in front of us. You could choose the mustard quality etc. Same goes for locally grown veggies, varieties of pulses, rice etc.

All gone in Noida. Metro-f**ked.

So here real kachi ghani is bottled at 200-400 INR a litre.

Dining out at a good restaurants has become difficult and I have had this super craving for Pad thai flat noodles and all the places nearby are disappointing.

Took matters in my own hands and made the most perfect pad thai and thai red curry ever. I always used to make a mean thai curry but I just outdid myself with the pad thai and it was my first try.

Safe to say the best pad thai in the world for me is available at a Pune run chain Malaka Spice. I just surpassed that in my opinion.

Even though the thai red curry looks okay in pics the taste was omg.

It is my own recipe.

I love combing thai red curry and pad thai even when they are supposed to be eaten seperately. Curry with plain rice and pad thai on its own is a dish.

Should get down from my high horse now.
