I have been making cafe style cappuccino at home since 2011 using 15 bar pressure espresso machines. Just not much into latte art so never gave that a try.

My go to coffee is from here.

https://dennysgroup.com/

I order their dark and medium mix beans and grind at home. They are good for cappuccino but i dunno how good they are to have black.

I tried making cold brews but I started over doing it so stopped :fear:

i can have such bitter coffee that starbucks cappuccino is mild tasting for me.

Got so curious about the love for the cold brews here that just bought an assorted pack from Sleepy Owl. Yet to open the packet though.

I really need to research on the espresso machines. I have been thinking buying for quite a long time now. Thanks for the recommend.

Yeah, they wanted a hike and MasterChef Australia didn't want to shell extra penny even though the show was booming and mainly because of those 3 judges. So they left the show together.

Although it was a masterstroke on MasterChef's part that they brought old contestants back for the first season after their departure. Built up hype.

The current season is not the same without the old judges and the contestants.

So that's the reason. I thought it was because of Chef Calombaris's fraud scandal that resulted in his restaurant empire collapsing. And because of that Masterchef had to let him go and other two also left with him.

It wasn't exactly fraud but yes, he withheld millions in payment to the employees.

He ended up sorting it out with a fine which was monumentally less than the amount he should have dispersed.

Gamed the Australian justice system.

I got the assorted pack as well and made the vanilla one. Make sure to taste it around the 15hr mark instead of just letting it steep till 20hrs.

You might have to use some sweetener to bring out the flavour in a more pronounced way.

Seemed to be a decent fellow. One of those cases of not judging the book by its cover.

His business got shut down though.

Got it. May be put in a bit more sugar than usual.

@Bird Bird Bird

Just received delivery of Cold Brew from Blue Tokai Bold Blend so i keep the inner bag in water in fridge then after 14 hours how much water and milk do i add to each cup since its soaked in 500 ML of water

You don't need to add water in it again. Coffee part is gonna stay at 500ML.

Either drink it black if you like it that way or add milk as per preference. I generally go for 250ML coffee and 150ML milk.

Just put the bag in 500 ml of water in a bottle and put it in the fridge, forget about it for 15 hrs. Take it out, throw the bag from the water, what you have now is 500 ml of cold brew coffee you can drink it as is or add some milk depending on your taste.

I recently bought Dope Cold brew, I thought I will be able to brew without any equipment.

So I added 100g of coffee to 500ml of water and kept it in fridge fir 12 hours but after that it wasn't as good as I expected. Tried both diluting with water and milk.

Any other method you would suggest? The coffee pack is lying in kitchen

Are you talking about coffee bags, the one that look like tea bags ? or did you just add the coffee to water ? If the latter then you need to use equipment else you will get coffee in your mouth. Use a super fine mesh cloth to strain or use cold brew equipment available online. But if you have coffee bags like the ones on Blue Tokai then you don't need any equipment - https://bluetokaicoffee.com/collections/coldbrewbags

What didn't you like? Was it too bitter/tart or was the flavor not enough?

Reduce the time if you found it bitter/tart or increase the time to 15-20hrs if you found the flavor to be lacking.

Because for cold brew there isn't really any other method, you can try experimenting with the number of hours you let it steep.

If even after then you don't like it then probably you just did not like this brand of coffee.

I think he got the method wrong because Dope doesnt have Cold Brew coffee bags, so I am guessing he put the coffee in the water and tried.

Need a Cold Brew Coffee Pot/Mesh cloth for that process.

I read Cold Brew and thought it must be in a permeable bag.

Still, even if he directly poured the coffee grind in water, it must have soaked and dispersed the flavour in the water. I think he just didn't like that brand.

This is the one I am talking about not the bags one.

I mixed coffee and water then filtered out using muslin cloth.

Is it not the method? I found it to be too bitter and way too "watery?"not sure how to describe it
