A few of them still think Abby is a trans. It's one thing to believe them pre release but even now after the game is out.

This is what happens when your news source is 4chan.org/pol/ and those alt-right SJW BAD channels on youtube

What do u guys think about people in Jackson sending Elie and Dina on patrolling duty without any men to protect them as backup? Jackson is full of armed guards,  but no lets send teenage skinny girls on active patrolling duty in a world full of deadly infected monsters and psychopaths factions.

I mean Abby going on patrolling duty i totally understand as she got military level training with WLF and she physically strong, Ellie didn't get same training and she neither as strong as Abby.

And then during Abby playthrough, WLF send 7 months pregnant Mel in combat knowing that Scars are out there waiting to kill them along with infected.  I was like wtf Niel druckman trying to prove here by creating these unrealistic scenarios in the game which will never happen in real world.

Do share your opinion guys. Did i miss something in story ? Did they give any story reason to send Mel in combat that missed?

I was hating the game before everyone else but man after playing it i pretty much like everything especially Abby who i like more than Elie now.

Abby sections are also more memorable gameplay wise.

Next game should have Abby as only main char, have Ellie eaten by a clicker or something idc, or maybe finally the fireflies can use her BRAINS! to find a cure.

Abby seems to be the better and stronger one( talking about mind, not she-hulk body ) among the two, from what people are saying in this thread.

Druckman is trying to spin some feminist STRONG BOLD INDEPENDENT bullshit, in-game wise Ellie is player character so according to cannon plot she can kill as many or sneak through as many people as possible whatever.

Basically in game or story wise it's the same meme as Batman and "prep time" i.e given enough prep-time, batman can kill  "defeat" anyone, including Darkseid or any of the cosmic/inter-dimensional/gods type villains you have in DC comics crossover events now

It's obvious Druckman engineered the story to pander to lesbian, feminist, trigger fans and random 4chan people whatever, but the in-game reason for sending skinny teenage girls and pregnant women out on patrol will be that they don't have enough manpower to spare, so literally anyone will do

Like in original TLOU they  send just Joel to escort Ellie throughout cancerous psycho bandit, military and zombie infested America, i am playing now and there is Tess too, but i have a feeling she will be killed :/

Now this is knowing Ellie is key to curing/immunizing the remaining folks to the corona cordyceps virus

And still, literally one dude is sent

Joel going all by himself to find Elie is different than Elie going on patrol by herself.  Joel is trained combatant who knows how to survive and physically much stronger. Elie is no Joel but Neil turned her into even better fighter than Joel. She fun to play but story wise feels unrealistic.

Im all in for strong female representation in movies and games. But sometimes it feels forced and unrealistic. Mel part was clearly forced and was unrealistic. There was no good reason for her to go in combat with 7 months baby. She was jumping everywhere and bumping her baby into walls and all. I was like Wtf lol.

This sounds like wolfenstein new colossus where BJ's GF/Wife is topless and pregnant and yet dual wields those assault rifles and shoots all the Nazis

They were sent on patrol to scout and clear any stragglers from an area which had already been mostly cleared. It's pretty clearly mentioned that they have regular patrols to these areas and most of the time they don't even encounter any clickers. You can tell by their easy-going body language too (not just Ellie and Dina's but Joel and Tommy's as well in one of the flashbacks) that these patrols aren't really what they consider dangerous. It's just become a routine.

It's also mentioned somewhere that if they do somehow come across any large group of clickers, they are not to engage and have to head back and report.

Also, since you speak about training, don't you think these patrols can be considered as field training in low-risk areas? It's also pretty evident that those girls have been well-trained in handling weapons already.

They didn't send her into combat

She's a medic who was sent for rotation from one base to another within their own territory but they got ambushed midway. It was only supposed to be a drive.

Not just that but Ellie is fighting the infected ever since she was 13-14  and she has gone from one eastern corner of America to Western one so I doubt anyone doubts her skills. Also, in a conversation with dina, she says that she has killed more infected in a single run than ellie so it's not like she's some rookie.

As for Mel being pregnant and being part of the hit squad, one must remember that those guys (Mel, owen, Manny, Abby, etc)  are also friends and that's why all of them are part of same squad in the first place.

Just finished the game. Overall, a very good experience and a story well done!

The last sequence, I just didn't want to fight as Ellie but the game forced me to. When Abby was down on her knees during the final minutes, I just moved away thinking Ellie would ask her to leave. waited for around 5 minutes but had to strike to progress. Really happy the game ended that way.

Was there too much time lapse between when Abby was ambushed and when we started playing as Ellie in the end?

I feel the game was stretched at some places and could have been shorter but that's just me. didn't like the "boss" fight sequence in hospital.

My top moments:

Sniper sequence

Beginning sequence when Abby met Joel and Tommy for the first time

Hospital (Ellie's gameplay)

Ellie's Day 1 tunnels sequence.

Joels' death - WTF moment. :sadbye:

One character I did not like at all was Dina. Somehow, just irritating. The Ellie-Dina dynamic just didn't land for me and it felt kinda forced.

All the other main characters, Tommy, Jesse, Yara, Lev, and Abby and her friends are very well fleshed-out and characters with excellent writing.

Finally finished the game. I have to say from the location to the characters to the motivations. It all fell neatly into place. The entire final third was stitched together beautifully. How awesome was the escape from the island? Abby was the high point of the game for me. What a freaking character.

That final fight was the most uncomfortable experience. And the epilogue was well done.

Almost all sections which had Yara, Lev, and Abby were awesome and intense.

On a different note, I'm listening to the The Official Last Of Us Podcast. Just got done with all episodes about the first game and there's some interesting insights from the creators (Druckmann, Gustavo, some animators, etc. and actors of the game).

This week was the first episode about Part II. Yet to listen to it, but just thought I'd share. Heard the preview at the end of last week's episode and it seems it's going to be good. In case, anyone's interested, here's the link.

Ya ditto. I was starting to like her then she broke that news. Didnt connect much with her.

Someday i think ellie should have killed abby. Someday i think it was the right end.

M eager to play this game but tshushima arrives soon.

Agree. Elie- Dina relationship was forced and put in to the game just to please gay community lol.

Dina was super forgettable and ND did a good job making me actively dislike Elie. She was basically murdering everyone good or bad and when she went back to Abby again leaving Dina and Baby alone, i was really mad. I was hoping to fight as Abby and Kill Elie tbh. There's a time when you just stop and move on but she was still obsessed with killing Abby.

ND did what Game of thrones writers did in last season. Made everyone hate Danerys and made Cersei good lol. ND tried same sh*t with Tlou. Lol
