anybody know why there are so few Playstation copies of the game floating around. I have been waiting to get a used copy for quite a while but either the price is not falling or the damn disc is not available. Surprising to me coz AFAIK this game wasnt a huge hit with people, I kinda liked it though, played it midway and then left the disc somewhere.

I guess the same kind of curiosity/interest leads many to outright buy the game as well, which might be one of the reasons for the game's success.

There's something about these games that's still generating interest. For me personally, it's the virtual tourism aspect that's the main draw. A different and well-realized setting that you can fool around in with each new installment almost always piques my curiosity.

ikr .. i remember how amazed I was when i first played AC Brotherhood (it was my first AC game) . The setting felt real, the architecture felt real, and the music was so good. Same for Black flag and Unity. those are the main AC games I have played. So dark age britain was a big draw.

I got bored after couple hours playing this during launch window and I sat through origins. Any improvements in last few months?

I don't think they changed anything major.

AC series is absurdly popular. Here in India too.. Don't go by the reactions on this forum.

My first AC was....well, the first one :P

And I loved that game too. I remember how just running around the rooftops of Acre, Damascus, and Jerusalem while marveling at the next-gen character animations felt like a treat to me.

It still looks great after almost 14 years.

Dude first AC was the best man, still goosebumps at that first reveal trailer, such a unique built, so much to explore, simple game.. That's when I kept my display name :P

AC1 had a great premise but was flawed in many ways.

First one will always remain special to me. That was my first ever original purchase. Earlier, I used to get *ahem* version from Nehru Place as I couldnt afford to buy original :D. Stipend amount wasnt enough. Tried with this one too but couldn't progress due to that famous "Jerusalem bug." I was so impressed with the story, environment, that Holy Land setting and graphics that I knew I had to play this. Saved for months and finally bought it from ebay. Finished it so many times with 100% completion, did all side quests including collecting each and every flag. I know people hate it for it repetitiveness but I loved it. Still remember that hospital assassination mission where being stealthy was really difficult while being shoved by mental patients. Sadly AC has changed a lot since then :(

I saw someone posting Black Flag being on discount for PS+ members @375. You might want to check that out.

Yeah I bought it because of the sale only :) quite a deal
But i need someone who is also playing the game on PS coz the Kenways fleet minigame gets much easier if you play with a friend, but its such an old game that nobody plays it anymore.

Oh I see. Sorry mate, I thought you needed a copy of the game. Anyhoo, I had completed Black Flag on PC way back and managed to do everything solo. Just out of curiosity, is this the ship mini-game where you try to battle those elite ones?

I got it figured out eventually, the thing connected to ubisoft servers after i reinstalled it, and the mini ship game was working along with all the little DLC that i got with the purchase. This is the ship minigame where you have Kenways fleet, and whatever ships you capture you can send to that fleet. then you use the ships in the fleet to send them on trade missions, and in order to get resources for the trade missions and make the route safe for your trade missions, you need to do battle using your ships which happens in a sort of automatic turn based minigame. Its  kinda fun and an easy way to make reales on the side. I always enjoyed this kind of side content in the AC games, in brotherhood and revelations they had those assassins missions where you could send people you recruit as assassins to missions and they progressively leveled up their skills. , i think they stopped doing these since Unity.

Ah gotcha! For a moment, I thought it was the one in the main campaign where you upgrade Jackdaw and then unleash hell on all those Man 'O War ships. Man I had a blast doing those missions. This was the game that absolutely nailed it's naval combat so perfectly. Heck, it even had that shark harpooning mini-game, so much fun. Have fun man, it's a great game.

Yeah my broke a*s played black flag on a pirated pc copy when it came out back in the day, now enjoying all its network features with the legit copy.

No money when we were younger, no time no that we have money. The old gamers curse.
