Game is awesome. I was craving for this kinda game. No bs sidemissions, no bs leveling up. Just straight up narrative based linear gameplay. Also game looks so good. Reflections on car or even in puddles are amazing.

Playing on Pro or X?

Howz frame rate?

Wait, so you are saying you dont like level-gated and grinding through useless fetch quests? Only if Ubisoft listens to this and stop making every other f**king game an generic Far Cry skin with RPG mechanics.

NEW FEATURES ADDED IN MAFIA: DEFINITIVE EDITION UPDATE

EjvdyQ7VgAEde0V?format=jpg&name=large

Custom HUD Options

  • Use these new options to customize the in-game HUD if, for example, you want to make your explorations of Lost Heaven feel less guided or take a particularly pleasing screenshot:
  • Switch the in-world main objective marker on/off.
  • Switch mini-map enemy markers on/off on all difficulty settings. (Previously enemy markers were always on outside of Classic Mode.)
  • Switch navigation features like turn-by-turn instructions and the mini-map GPS on/off.
  • Enable the new Minimal HUD mode to hide HUD elements including the mini-map, the speedometer, and objective text while playing.

Noir Mode

  • Enable Noir Mode to enjoy Mafia: Definitive Edition's gameplay and cinematics with a vintage black-and-white look. Noir Mode can be toggled on and off via the game options screen.

Free Ride Content

  • Now that you're off to the races and enjoying Free Ride mode, depending on which vehicle you're driving and where you're driving it, you might find one of a couple new gameplay features that we've added to the mode. We'll leave the specifics for you to discover and hope you fare well in Lost Heaven.

Mafia: Definitive Edition fixes in this update include but are not limited to the following:

  • Addressed a reported issue that sometimes prevented the correct vehicles from unlocking in the player garage upon completion of the optional Lucas Bertone missions. Players who have completed these missions should find the correct vehicles in their garage the next time they start the game.
  • Addressed a reported concern that a special assassination animation sometimes wasn't triggering correctly during the mission "The Saint and The Sinner."
  • Addressed a reported concern that certain cinematics would occasionally show a black screen.

Short and sweet game, Gripping narrative. One of the best writings, classic gangsta stuff..

would have loved to shot gun Salieri myself !

Is the second and third game story is completely different with new characters? Are they worth playing.

The second game is certainly playable if you're kinda feeling the itch to play something Mafia-like.

Note that the second game is just a remaster, so the visuals are certainly a downgrade compared to the DE of the first game.

It's strictly okay, IMO, story-wise. Nothing too great.

Haven't played the third game enough to judge or comment on it.

The 2nd game is a sequel to the first game also. Spoilers for 1st Mafia DE, so you can read if you've completed it.

Spoiler

If you see the epilogue, you will see Old Tommy being gunned down with the words "Salieri sends his regards". The two people who did the shooting are the MCs of Mafia 2

Completed the story yesterday. I have mixed feelings about this game.

Pros,

  • The nostalgia is strong with this one. Was really awesome to relive the time when I played the OG mafia some 16 years ago.
  • Visually decent. Lighting could have been better but reasonable for a remake.
  • The music is apt and they haven't ruined the 30s feel.
  • The voice acting is splendid in some of the missions but has some bad VA as well.
  • Gameplay is tight and I enjoyed it.

Cons,

  • Some of the characters have bad VA and some are inconsistent as hell. Paulie for example is crap in earlier missions but in later missions he shows emotion. I think the Voice actor can do emotional scens but not funny goofy lines.
  • They made it way easier. The OG game was balanced and apt. I am yet to try classic mode though.
  • They removed some of the driving segments and I feel like cars are less important here.
  • Felt like there were less guns than original game.

It's a solid game and people who have played the original will like it a bit more.
