The Playstation 5 thread

It’s the distributor who has decided to charge lesser in India

It’s got nothing to do with publisher

Though it only makes sense to not increase launch prices in India & I hope all the local channels do the same

going 60-70 won’t pinch the ppl in the west as they were paying 60 for a almost two decades

In India it’s gone steep from 2k to 5k which would pinch anyone

More of a local problem

You think ppl in the west are not complaining about the price increase?

People are going all Gung ho over ps5 game pricing, rightly so, however are forgetting the only XSX/XSS exclusive that got a physical launch in india was Gears Tactics and it launched @5500

As long as there are alternatives to said over-pricing of games, ppl with tight pockets won't complain. If sony comes up with a service like GP, 5k pricing will cease to bother most.

Ya, the 5-6 people who got xbox in India are pretty vocal against gears tactics pricing..

but this is Sony thread and not everything is about Xbox vs ps

It's not about being x vs y. It seems like the whole industry is heading that way. Even Nintendo , though keeping the base price @60, is trying to increase the price by paywalling essential in game features behind amiibos and selling them individually @20-25 dollars extra, taking the whole price of the package to around 80 dollars.

Buddy india is not that big a market for sony. Us indians are used to overpriced games. Some will buy at full price and the rest will buy when the prices go down. Won't bother sony a bit.

Ps- they might push psn in india though.

True, not for Indians, but when games like Returnal n Sackboy flop, it will be entirely on Sony's head, and not the developers behind those games.

If they keep pricing it like that, it’s never going to be a big market.. even Apple learned and made a slightly cheap iPhone

I was comparing india with other regions.

Sony is the biggest player when it comes to consoles in india. I think it has more than 90% of the console market. People swear by sony.

I don't see it changing anytime soon.

Nobody cares about 100 less copies it'll sell in India in grand scheme of things. If you're talking about WW then Returnal was already sold out at major retailers before release. They undershipped the game and it sold beyond their expectations.

So they could price it cheaper and they won’t lose anything in the grand scheme of things

It should absolutely be cheaper. One of the reasons why I buy games on PC, they understand local pricing.

Don’t remind me:ranting:

I have to preorder RnC just to buy the console

But the trend with sony is, once a new aaa title launches, they reduce the price of the previous aaa title. Atleast that's the trend in india.  Maybe some sony india protocol or something.

Ps- I strongly believe 5k is too steep a price as well.

Btw if you can control the impulse to play @12, you can always get games on day 1 from offline shops. They'll give you a 10-15% flat discount as well.

I moved full digital for last 2-3 years.. digital is just so much easier..

I don’t think I’ll Go back to discs  unless forced…
