The Playstation 5 thread

So , quick question , should i keep my ps5 covered with a cloth or something when its completely switched off ( obviously not when its on standby mode )  ? Just to keep it free of dust and stuff. Curious to know everyone.s thoughts on this.

I used to keep my ps4 pro covered in the initial year or so , but stopped doing it later and it works just fine, but since the design of the ps5 is quite different , thought i.d ask.

Even on PS5 you will keep it covered and protected initially only for few months

Dust it regularly and clean the vents & ports with a smaller brush every couple of days to avoid build up. Especially if it's closer to the floor.

Ya this sounds like a good plan. Mine.s quite close to the floor. Dont really have too much space on my table right now.

Any similar cover for ps4?

Not that I'm aware of. Never used a cover for the PS4. As awesome as the PS5 DE looks (symmetry), the idiotically fugly white colour is very off-putting and until I get Darkplates or an equivalent, I'll use this cover when the console is off.

You can't use rest mode like this though.

Yep, you can't. I'm planning to use the cover everytime about 5-10 minutes after the console has been completely turned off.

This doesn't fit if PS is in horizontal orientation?

Not sure. I keep my PS5 in vertical mode (looks sexier that way, IMO) and will use the cover like that, too.

It might get a reboot.

Ps- if it gets a pc port, it'll get a ps5 port for sure.

If it gets a reboot it’ll start with MGS1 as rumoured or original two MG games

Porting a game made for cell processor to PC architecture was never easy, kinda needed full development from ground up like recent Demon Souls

That’s why it never happened with many PS3 games

People want the god of war trilogy on the pc as well. I wonder if it'll ever happen.
