The Playstation 5 thread

Tweets from random a*s accounts don't count as content. Just saying.

Though random, it’s something to discuss as there are often slow new days as not much gaming news are shown like in the past and few members around to discuss in this forum.

Back then we used to be excited as several games were released all year and hypes of big Showcases events . Now they are rare.

I got a 1TB normal hdd for ps5 and 1.5tb normal hdd for xsx. I think I am set for next 5-7 years for console storage

Even the 667gb on ps5 is more than sufficient any gamer for all the games that he can play at one point in time

also, looking at the documentation, Sony doesn’t promise performance equal to internal ssd all the time and for all games. Also, installing a heatsink on the ssd and then installing that ssd into the console is too technical/risky for a casual gamer. Just looking at the documentation and technology requirements and specs of the ssd makes it seem as if it’s for pc assembly specialists

perhaps the no-brainer just-insert ssd expansion of Xbox may be worth the extra money just for the convenience

True..

I just plugged in my PS4's 2 TB HDD straight to PS5... works like a charm.

Expanding SSD is awesome, but not for that price. Only for enthusiasts.

I don’t think it’s worth buying such expensive storage for consoles…

I don’t even think I need to extend storage on ps5.. only use it for exclusives and they come every few months..

This. So. Much.

Ek toh itna kharcha karke console + SSD khareedo, upar se alag padhaai-likhaai.

Yeah, I guess I fall in the 'dumb' category when it comes to technical aspects like these.

The reason to buy a console is convenience, not tinker around with heatsinks and millimetre measurements and whatnot. If I was so smart, I would've built a PC to begin with, to play around with settings and specs and hardware components (probably would've 'played' with those things more than games).

I'll chup-chaap wait for an official list by Sony (unless it's out already), search for it online, and simply buy it. Can't bother with 'make sure it's so-and-so mm in size and so-and-so read/write speed'.

He is just trying to dismiss the notion (if that exists even. I wouldn't hazard a guess that it would) that scalpers are "holding" the PS5 inventory and not selling it forward. Welcome to quality journalism.

Scalpers dont manage to sell their inventory off instantly. And not everyone buys at inflated rates.

Hence, the assumption here is that if scalpers picked up a chunk of the 10m, monthly online active users would be less.
