Makes sense. Why waste resources in this when you are developing GTA 6?

Just making it available on all platforms for game preservation.

Why not ? Red dead redemption 2 bought more hype to it. I would 101% got it day one if it was a proper remake. i would have even considered remaster! But this ?? This is just plain green

It's a big game. Will delay GTA 6 by a year if they went on to remaking it.

Personally would rather have GTA 6 quicker.

They dropped RDR online for GTA 6. All hands on deck approach. That's a far more lucrative opportunity for them.

Even if you have multiple teams, usually all studios do this during final stretch of a game. Still comes out buggy that needs patches to be fixed later.

Am assuming they want GTA 6 launch to be perfect, so won't spare any resources on this.

But yeah, would be better if they remade it. And also released a next gen version of RDR2. Would be worth $50 if you have not played before.

Given the technical limits of its day, it's unsurprising to learn that The Order: 1886 is a 30fps title. Ready at Dawn actually did great work in achieving a locked 30fps through the run of play, but as a 2015 release the game was never updated with higher resolutions or a higher frame-rate for PS4 Pro, let alone PS5 - until now.

Thanks to illusion, the master of unlocking (frame-rates), it's possible to patch the game to remove its 30fps cap - and combined with recent PS5 exploits, run the game in this patched state on Playstation 5 hardware at 60fps. This looks fantastic, with the motion blur shutter speed scaling nicely and game retaining its cinematic look while enjoying a big bump to overall fluidity.

Unfortunately, to access this on your own PS5, you need a 2021-era firmware and you can never connect to the network on this PlayStation again - so no PSN and no multiplayer, you need to be fully offline.

Liked the game, some flaws for sure but liked it.

It had great lore & concept along with sublime art & weapon designs.

It just wasn’t baked properly & focused just too much on being picture perfect rather than a fun design.

Wasted potential.

"... the development of Cronos began 5 years ago due to the complexity surrounding the PlayStation 5’s SSD. Whilst the SSD is very fast in the PS5, it created a new challenge that made it impossible for Sony to develop the infrastructure needed using current technology on the market (functionality, latency, etc.). This meant that Sony, under the Future Technology Group, designed a completely new network storage solution based on PCIe (NTB) which leverages NTB and the PS5 I/O co-processors.

The final product is a custom storage server under the codename ‘Kura’ which reads up to 5 GB/s with <1ms latency."

Yeah never thought about it this way.

But SSD’s specially the increasingly fast ones are pushing back Game streaming even further.

Running old & CrossGen games are ok but running things like R&C,FF16 & Spider-Man 2 on Streaming would be a tedious task.

The AAA consoles are here to stay it seems :scratchchin:

You are streaming just the image. Doesn't affect you. You just need a good internet and data centre nearby.

This whole SSD system is likely to increase efficiency so they don't have to alott one ps5 per user.

Ok, Playstation is having an incredible week.

Positive quarterly results, most metrics double digits positive whilst competitors in double digit negative.

Twisted Metal is a success.

PS5 streaming, works pretty well as per people having beta access, and at 4K(thanks to Cernys in-house developed streaming tech) which competitor is struggling with.

Now accounts to almost 50% of home consoles sold this year, higher than last year's 31%.

Not PS, but Sony gets Zee, one of the highest media conglomerates in India.

Hey guys. So is there any media player available for the PS5? I want to play a Video / Music from my external HDD. Not OTT or streaming from PLEX. Simple plug and play from USB or HDD.

Haven't tried this, but this says it can. Quite barebones though.
