One great idea I had today -

 

forget PS5 Pro 

buy PC by Feb-March 2025 like 7800x3d + 5080 (or slightly worse level depending on existing pricing)

 

then, when Ghost of Yotei and GTA6 launches, just play it Day 1 in PS5 on disc and sell them

 

later, when these games launch on PC - enjoy ultra graphics on PC for a 2nd playthrough

 

important - FF7 Rebirth is a major Pro game and I didn’t play it at launch so I can just wait till launches on PC and play the best version 

 

what do you think of this plan?

Buying a PC is always the best option if you have that kind of money & patience.

 

GTA6 aside I don’t think it’s really that important to play Single Player games on day 1.

Sony’s window for releasing games on PC is getting shorter by the day.

Some games need patches other’s fixing but over all it’s pretty beneficial for most of the games so far.

 

You say like you sit and analyse those games daily on Pro.  Majority of gamers wont notice huge difference between Pro and PS5, that's why Pro wont sell much.

Every analyst including DF is putting a disclaimer not to judge the fidelity difference based on their streaming feed.

Same thing they say while comparing PC games.

 

So according to you & smart asses like you the PC gamer’s buying ultra high cards are foolish & can’t really tell the difference….

 

Also PS5pro has already been confirmed to be selling more than PS4pro in same timeline by sales analysts & Sony themselves….

 

 

Every analytical video apart from few are going gung-ho over the gains & yet you & few other’s focus solely on two-three that went mediocre-bad!!

Acquiring just for FromSoft would be a horrible acquisition for Sony! A lot of creativity depends on Miyazaki! If he retires or leaves, it'll be a Konami/Kojima situation where Sony is left with remakes of old titles or Non- Miyazaki Souls (while Miyazaki can found another studio and create a Souls-like that will be considered an original Souls game like how Elden Ring is considered a Souls Game despite it not being part of the series)

 

Kadokawa is major for anime (and associated Manga/Light Novel etc) and other JRPG studios though

If I can add to this discussion as someone who is actually playing on the PS5 Pro, it is absolutely making a difference to me. And I'm someone who is typically not that concerned about 30 vs 60fps or a lot of fidelity but the difference is palpable. FfVii rebirth and black myth wukong have a lot of diff both visually and perf wise to me and I'm enjoying it. And this is just now. Over the next couple of years it's going to be even more prominent.

 

And I'd add that there's no point in convincing anyone else about it. If you feel it is worth your money, but it otherwise don't

The way I see it…..ppl are hell bent on convincing each other that it’s just the Same PS5 & Sony is Scamming them for extra $200…..which is quite foolish.

 

Wukong,Armored Core,Elden Ring,FF16 etc. Havn’t even received patches to support PS5pro yet.

 

Over the Years Specially First Party Sony & GTA6 will definitely need PS5pro If you want respectable Performance or RT modes.

Right now, Pro upgrade is a mixed bag. Recent example - for SH2, DF advices to avoid the Pro patch and just play disc 1.0 without internet for best experience 

 

Pro MAY become worth it 1-2 years later but right now, it isn’t an outright upgrade over base PS5 for all games - that’s not even considering the price tag, extra disc drive

Mid-Gen refreshes are always a mixed bag.

 

It all depends on what content are YOU looking at personally that you want to experience.

 

 

All Sony First & Second Party namely Spider-Man 2 & StellerBlade are looking bonkers better than base PS5 according to everyone including DF.

 

& Games like FF7R2,Dragon’s Dogma,Balder’s Gate 3,COD(untested) are having massive gains.

 

 

Wukong,Elden Ring,Armoured core etc are also hitting the VRR range without even official support so far.

 

If you were looking to buy it only & only for Sillent Hill 2 or Jedi Survivor then obviously you can wait.

 

 

But proclaiming bold statements that it’s a SCAM just because 2-3 games aren’t where they should be is quite funny & reeks of fanboy hate tbh.
