They are making the most foolish decision of not releasing the latest Halo & Gears on PS ASAP just like the Latest Forza. These games have a chance at bouncing back & reviving just like Sea Of Thieves did & now Forza 5. The longer they wait the harder it will be for these franchises to bounce back in lobby numbers. They will release other parts later. It will have multiplayer too and crossplay. Gears 1 is iconic and most beloved for many. AnK Posted May 6 Report Share Posted May 6 Problem is not the Solo release of Gears 1. It’s the Solo release of a 20 year old dated Multiplayer component. Why would anyone want to play Gears 1 MP when Gears 5 exists & those lobbies are rapidly dying. Same goes for Halo. Releasing an $80 package with Gears 5 & Gears Ultimate Remaster would have been the better strategy. Or releasing all of the initial trilogy all at once for $20 each & Gears 4 & 5 for $60 each. What they are doing will further divide the Multiplayer lobbies as they just can’t shut off MP of older game once newer is out. They did same mistake back with Halo MCC & doing it again. You dont have to even play the game to tell all cutscenes are remade. All cutscenes were remade, all Graphics assets were improved and enhanced using improved Unreal engine tools. I have original 360 version and Ultimate version both in library. I played both back to back and difference was night and day. Gameplay still feels same in campaign with same A.I but multiplayer feels very different and quite modernised. 60fps with dedicated servers with improved animations makes multiplayer in Ultimate edition way better than Gears 2 and 3. Its still keeps the essence of original intact but lot of stuff is remade using new improved Unreal engine tools. Reloaded is upgrade over Ultimate at 4k60. Engine upgrade alone is huge.
