This for me as well.

If it is indeed Netflix of games then i should be able to watch Stranger things and Sacred games day 1 when they release. I cant be paying separately for Stranger things.

Similarly, all games should be on GP day 1 when they release.

Only Netflix originals are day one .. for movies, it’s near blu ray release and for series, it’s weekly release..

and streaming services are completely fragmented now .. u need to subscribe to multiple services. Netflix, prime,Hotstar,SonyLIV etc

so one game subscription is not gonna cover all anyways ... you need to pick according to ur choice..

That makes 0 sense...

MS doesn't own every studio nor is publishing every game to make it available on GP at launch. They put all their games on GP day 1.

Netflix don't have The Boys or Mandalorian or other 100s of shows. They have no control over it.

Same way MS can't do anything if publisher doesn't want to put their game on GP. How is MS supposed to put games that are not even on their platforms?

If i XSX now, i will pay 70$ for new games plus GP Sub for old ones. Yeh toh aur mehenga ho gya

No? All MS games are on GP day 1. You are paying only for 3rd party.

On PS, you are paying $70 for ALL games. Both 1st and 3rd party.

Yeah, lol, he seem to forget there are so many subs outside Netflix.

Even in games there are multiple subs now. UPLAY+ / EA Play / MS Game Pass / Sony PS Now / Stadia Pro / GeForce Premium / Apple Arcade / Upcoming Luna..

Only matter of time before others join in too.

GamesPass is offering nothing ATM or in foreseeable future that can’t be enjoyed on Current gen systems or better yet their mid-gen upgrades

so bot logic will always remain bot logic
if PS5 games prices are high look at GamesPass
& play what, same games that are equally playable on OneX or PSpro?!?

or they are promoting the spend of 50k for better lighting & shadows?!?

Buying either of the next gen consoles is stupidity ATM

I haven’t played any of ms exclusives of last 2 gens.. plus few titles this gen like doom eternal, outer worlds etc , so it makes sense for me.
For others not so much..

Netflix makes profit now afaik.

They are. Netflix has been performing well, with its net profits growing 3x from around $0.6 billion in 2017 to $1.9 billion in 2019.

Net income for the twelve months ending June 30, 2020 was $2.681B, a 132.87% increase year-over-year.

Dear console makers, here's how to solve Gamepass and PSNow:

AAA games release retail only day 1. Akin to box office. They show up for GP/PSNow 90 days after release

Everything else: day 0-60, pick a number

Create GP/PSNow exclusives which won't be available for retail. Start with old classics, back catalog gems, remakes etc. and/or DLCs
Games once in subscription shouldn't be leaving

Advantages:

AAA studios need to make their games more compelling for day1 purchase at full price

Gamers who don't care for day1 get the same game for a lot less (sub price) a few months down the road, like how it is now anyway

For people who game too much: unmatched selection of catalog, all games available with you are also available with your friends

For people who don't game too much: something always available to play

Uncomplicated backward compatibility

Will get me to try many games I otherwise wouldn't bother with
More "risky", off-beat games

For industry: steady money inflow, statistics, data on game usage, demographics etc. Helps them to create better games/experiences

Friction area: third party devs creating their own subscriptions like EA and T2.

I can't wait till someone truly solves this.

Yes, it is. Only difference is that their first party games don't release there day 1, which wont be happening for a long time as they have already clarified.

That’s a very big difference... hence hoping Sony does something like it .. 5k games are out of my reach.

On PS, you are paying $70 for ALL games. Both 1st and 3rd party.

While every service has quality - as far as TV shows are concerned; in Gaming - one service is offering Breaking Bad Level quality for $70 per show and the other is offering random, unheard of shows whose names are not worth remembering (Other than 1 - Forza) + some decent 3rd party shows from other networks as well. That's the major problem.

They won't. They have already said that. Their games sell big enough, just like Nintendo, for them to just give them away for peanuts. At least for now..
