Horizon Forbidden West +adaptive triggers will help us to make the weapons feel even more unique and satisfying to use" -I think I read somewhere pulling bow string will be resistive, more resistance in trigger = more powerful the arrow shot Demon's Souls "you feel every blow as you strike down your enemies and cast each spell" "We can also turn the simple act of pulling a lever to open a gate into a sensory experience. This is something that rumble could never do. It could never replicate the feeling of metal striking metal or fire crackling in your hand as you conjure magic." Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart "the Enforcer is a dual-barreled shotgun type weapon. As you pull the trigger, you’ll fire from one barrel, and you can feel resistance around halfway down the trigger. Need a bigger blast? Pull the trigger through that resistance point and you’ll fire both barrels at the same time" Gran Turismo 7 "A typical ABS releases brake pressure intermittently while the driver applies pressure to the pedal. The adaptive trigger is suited for recreating this pedal feel, and it will allow the player to accurately feel and understand the relationship between the braking force they want and the tire’s grip." Sackboy: A Big Adventure "Adaptive triggers have enabled us to provide sensations which match what Sackboy would feel in game. For example, when picking objects up, there is a tension to each press which conveys that the little guy is struggling to carry it." Ghostwire: Tokyo "The haptic feedback, in comparison to the vibration function of previous generations, allows us to utilize a much wider range, starting from a very strong vibration that is much more powerful than before, down to extremely light vibration." Nothing gimmicky in this. All sound pretty cool and should increase immersion. Everything doesn't need to be ground breaking or revolutionary for it to be a good and useful new addition. Well share button was mocked by the bot army leading up to the release as a gimmick. Everything is a gimmick until your favorite company copies it over. This goes back to rumble packs, analog sticks and pressure sensitive analog buttons. 13 minutes ago, triggr happy ss said: Is the non gimmicky ,widely used track pad also there? Or not anymore? Of course its there. Practically every first party game uses it, and there are a lot of first party games on PS4.

How it will be implemented in GT7 alone is exciting and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Of course how it's eventually implemented by TP is a whole other thing but yeah it could be really immersive if it's done right.

Pressure sensitive buttons were rarely used and I think abandoned with DualSense controller. Buttons were not pressure sensitive, it was the analog sticks iirc and they still are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk PS2 and PS3 had pressure sensitive buttons which performed various actions based on how hard you pressed them, like throttle in racing games. This was adopted into triggers on OG Xbox and GC, later in 360 and now PS4. People kept calling it a gimmick while at the same time using triggers which does the exact same thing. The triggers just have longer travel distance.

Adaptive triggers can literally change the resistance provided by triggers based on situations. Like if your gun jams in game, you won't be able to press R2. Or if you car is spinning out, it'll be hard to keep R2 pressed. It's really exciting tech which would be used primarily by FP titles. But it's exciting nonetheless. We will see tech expert. Bolto aise confidence mein raha hai jaise aisa hoga. Apart from first party no one will bother with 90% of controller features lol.
