Sony’s policy of 50% is must have this gen because of the experimental technologies in the PS5 like variable frequency, liquid metal cooling and unswapable SSD controller. My PS4 I purchased in 2014 December and most of it's life it was just sitting there collecting dust. Even now it is collecting dust mainly till P5R, TLOU2, GOT, Days Gone etc become cheap, or maybe they announce a cheaper PSNOW sub here. PS5 will also be the same with 5K gaming. I wanted to get a PS4 last year itself but decided to wait for PS5 launch because it would have BC. Be aware tho that eventually 5K gaming will stare at you in the face and your PS5 will become a modern art show piece for most of the year .
