Also, sometimes used to forget to charge the batteries or someone else in my house unplugged it to charge their own device. Bought the play and charge kit and it was shite and broke down in less than 6 months. Anyone saying MS is giving players a choice or is being consumer friendly is BS'er of the highest order because their own premium controller which comes for 200$ uses internal rechargeable battery. Beyond certain threshold you just stop noticing the charging routine. But on DS4 the routine is very much there, like your mobile phones. I got 4 AA eneloop pro batteries and a panasonic charger for total 2100. Their capacity is 5100 mAh which is way more then any PS controller. Original DS4 uses a 1000mAh battery. When battery is low, just swap the charged couple and put used ones to charging. Hardly takes 2 minutes - instant full charge. Used ones take 3-4 hours to fully charge. Full charged ones last 3-5 days. In my opinion, this is the least hassle/best performance/least cost setup for any wireless controller. The reason for battery drain is DS4 pings at much higher rate than both Xbox and Switch Pro. This makes the controller most responsive wireless controller of all, but fks up the battery.
