I thought so but then his story got published on IGN India. Anyway, hope it's not true.

Just wondering, How big is scalping in the Indian market? With laws under consumer protection act protecting against sales of goods above MRP, surely the grey market uncles will be wary of scalping the consoles and selling them above MRP (since these would be official Indian consoles with an official MRP)?

Same goes for EBay sales etc. right? Or are these things conveniently overlooked by the authorities?

Scalping is not the same as in western countries.

Both Amazon and Flipkart has one unit per customer limit while ordering.

Also, unlike US/EU we need to enter OTP for every purchase with cards. So bot based scalping is not happening here.

Worst case scenario someone can employ few people to order from different accounts, which is still nowhere near as bad as scalping with bots in western countries.

If there's sufficient stock, we should be able to place an order provided we're ready at 12PM.

I hope they don't overestimate their allocations leaving orders being pushed. That would be very sad.

Switch being portable as well, is helping its sales numbers for sure.

I see people buy multiple units within a single family.

Yup. Some of my colleagues have 3-4 units per family

Helps that it is the platform that has Mario on it. haha..

The lockdown has made people go into major nostalgia and has made parents buy their own switch devices as well.

If there was a way to get numbers of actual daily (or even monthly) usage of number of units for each console, we will probably see a huge difference with Switch.

Dude they went crazy on animal crossing. Almost everyone in my department bought at least one console and quite a few multiple units for their kids and stuff. And here I was cursing the lockdown

Every f**king convo I was just listening to "ooh such a nice farm" or whatever, come and visit me blah blah blah

Animal Crossing nailed the lockdown. Such a sweet game. It came at just about the perfect time for people all around the world struggling to cope with suddenly being couped up at home. :majesty:

For Pune guys please note that the Sony centre on Tilak Road is already over booked with unofficial bookings. He's not sure if he can fulfill those itself so be careful if he tells you otherwise.
