CD acting as a support studio to initiative is like Salman Khan playing a sidekick to tushar kapoor in a film.

So f**ckin true

loyalist trying to spin it & pretend a new studio with nothing under their belt but 3.5 years of wasted time will keep Crystal Dynamics as second fiddle

How does it matter who is client and who is vendor?

CD will do all the work while The Initiative will ensure quality control.

That's how it must be set up, I think.

It will turn out pretty good by the looks of it.

Some people are just salty :ha:

Either it will get cancelled like Platinum's Scalebound, since MS has so much money it can burn it for shits and giggles.

Or it will release, xbots will call it the Second Coming, then everyone will forget about it in a few months

Just like

Ryse( supposed GoW competitor )

or Killer Instinct ( we have SF too yo! )

or Sunset Overdrive ( frandship with sony broken, Insomniac is our friend now! )

or Recore ( idk what to say about this )

or Crackdown 3 ( Azure Cloud Powa + Terry Crews )

There are probably more from the early Xbone era, but hopefully you get the point :)

By the looks of what?!?

where did you get a look & of what?!?

A top tier developer working with a dependable publisher who is known to support studios well.

Sounds like a perfect match.

MS name is becoming synonymous with quality.

The 70 devs are all lead gaming specialists , there is nothing to worry .

People are dumb to expect a newly formed studio announced 3 years ago at E3 (not to forget the impact covid has had) to pump out a new AAA game next year .
The title was always a 2023 -24 release .

even established IP  sequels takes 4-5 years now so why are we expecting miracles here?

next year and 2023 is already going to be great for 1st and 2nd party output.

Already too much in the pipeline .

What about the promise of a new aaa title every other month?

There was no promise of AAA title.

They can be AAA or AA.

It is being kept. From my perspective

Aug - Flight sim, the Ascent

Sept - Psychonauts 2

Oct - Back 4 Blood

Nov - Forza Horizon 5

Dec - Halo Infinite

It's pretty loaded and delivering more than promised. Many more games are being released, I just listed those I will play.

These 2 are neither aaa nor aa (as per MS admission) and are being treated as indies by MS.

No physical release, no further games in the pipeline.

I almost got a Xbox due to that game... still to this day that game looks super fun to me...

If they would have said yes to Sunset 2 who knows.... insomniac wouldn't be where it is right now...

That's the problem I see with MS in general... they don't extend the support for the IP at all.

If there were audience for it let the studio do some work and evolve much more out of the new IP/World they created... its a new IP!!! what do you expect?? it to sell 8-10 mill??

one game came out they are not happy with numbers... and thats it... THAT'S A WRAP!!

In all likely CD will lead the project with initiative being a support studio  (like bloodborne from + sony japan) + many other small outsourcing studios will be contracted.

As for reboot, Spencer was playing this game back in early 2020 yet 18 months later a new studio is hired to make the game and they officially say that it is very early is development. Atleast with CD coming in the game won't be cancelled whatever the final quality of the game is

Ah all likely?. So no Source just bs lol?  Do you have any source? Are you ready to eat crow when you find out that lead creative director is still from Initiative.

CD is assisting them as project is big. Creative head is still  Initiative. You do realise Splash damage helped Coliation in every Gears game? CA and Saber also helped 343? Unless you can show me legit  proof (not some random twitter post) i can't take your post seriously lol.

Rhonda from SSM joined the studio as creative lead after Murray left.
