“TOKYO and REDMOND, Wash. — May 16, 2019 — Sony Corporation (Sony) and Microsoft Corp. (Microsoft) announced on Thursday that the two companies will partner on new innovations to enhance customer experiences in their direct-to-consumer entertainment platforms and AI solutions.

Under the memorandum of understanding signed by the parties, the two companies will explore joint development of future cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure to support their respective game and content-streaming services. In addition, the two companies will explore the use of current Microsoft Azure datacenter-based solutions for Sony’s game and content-streaming services. By working together, the companies aim to deliver more enhanced entertainment experiences for their worldwide customers. These efforts will also include building better development platforms for the content creator community.“

Hmmmm…..that would be really great,no need to spend money on multiple devices whatsoever. :scratchchin:

Not that there was any need from 2012-2020 either.

Ya but sony is a major competitor and sega a 3rd party publisher ,there is a difference there. Azure services in return for titles on Gp is very much a possibility ,eventually the main goal is for the games to reach maximum crowd.

Anyways all assumptions ,could be anything so a partnership is good sign .?

Totally unrelated business.

Amzon has been selling cloud infrastructure for years now…..doesn’t mean every developer or publishing house who has been leasing their infrastructure would start trading putting games on Luna Subscription day 1.

Tmrw one can say Sony would wave off royalties of third party & let them use their most popular proprietary hardware for free & instead ask games to be released on PSplus or PSnow day1.

Totally baseless assumption.

But ppl on internet have this habit of putting everything on GamesPass day 1 & spread hype.

Have they signed some sort of an exclusivity deal?

Just an MOU that in future if ever need be they will lease M$’s Azure based cloud infrastructure for their games.

Many developers & publishing houses have signed these in the past including Sony.

Has no relation whatsoever with the Xbox division.

Something similar.

Earlier it was a console, and now the cloud.

Yep they sell OS,Cloud Servers & many other unrelated softwares.
Many of these are used in games development.

Companies create games to make money, saying that they’ll put the entire end product up for free just cos they will be given free access to one component that went into development/usage is quite pointless.

Games only show up on subscriptions once they are duly paid for,the amount that they would have generated in revenues if a certain percentage of interested subscribers would have purchased it.

One has no correlation with the other.

True. It's quite a far-fetched idea. Even Sony has partnered with MS for Azure servers but that's nothing more than a business deal. Partnerships like these are quite common.

No need to get worried ank and Radical..:roflroll:

seems like only azure deal…

Last Sega games I played were SF4 in 2008 & Bayonetta in 2009.

Clearing the air on misconception has nothing to do with worry.

M$ can easily pay for anything that they want, numbers or logic has been out the window anyway.

Also didn’t someone already tell you that the emojis you use make your posts even more foolish then they already are.
