The Xbox Series X|S thread

Shouldn't set bar too low for remasters just to enjoy Upscaled/UpFPSed BC. Doing better on newer consoles is always possible and that is what one should pay for.

GTAV transitioned from PS360 to One4, and didn't just upped the res or fps. That would've been terribly disappointing.

Same thing for Spiderman, the Raytracing from Miles Morales and more detailed textures with higher res/fps is what it will take for it to be called a Remaster.

Adding Features like Textures,Frames,Resolution,HDR & Raytracing doesn’t require a game to be recoded from from ground up again

so I don’t think it warrants for whole new fresh price tag on it

as I said PS3 to PS4 there was no choice which was understandable

but now unless they Remake the whole game with new engine, assets & character models they don’t deserve to ask for a full price tag

The larger point, how a person who never played TLOU2 or Spidey are supposed to buy it. BC is for those who already have the gamedisk with them.

Do you expect a common man to pick up TLOU2 for PS4, just assuming that it would work, or go to a second hand games store

So of course, there will be a separate SKU,

- which WILL mention that it runs Native on PS5,

- which will mention that it has been enhanced for PS5 (so that people can double dip if they want to)

Developer effort to port is irrelevant, purchaser doesn't pay X or Y, price based on manhours spent.

This is the only way they can charge 60$ for the game

Though Rumour has it  that they would sell Miles Morales standalone  for 39$, like Lost Legacy.

Think about those who will be playing for the  first time.

60$ for Enhanced Spidey + Miles will be a great fking deal.

According to Daniel:

  • This is basically part of Microsoft's two SKU push for the Xbox next gen family.
  • The Series X being a high end, high spec, high price console.
  • The Series S being a mid range, mid spec, low price console.
  • Both running the same next gen games.
  • One notable thing is the lack of disc drive in the Series S, to keep costs down.
  • It's very much a console that will allow people to jump in from day 1 at a low cost. Rather than have to wait for price drops.
  • The Series S is basically the new One S
  • The Series X is basically the new One X
  • Both run next games natively, just at different levels.
  • Yes, this is the real console design and the console exists.

Price confirmed

Quote

We can confirm via our sources that the entry-level Xbox Series S will cost $299 at retail, with a $25 per month Xbox All Access financing option, which Microsoft is planning to push hard via various retailers and a large global roll out. The more powerful Xbox Series X will cost $499, with a $35 per month Xbox All Access financing option.

Both consoles will launch on November 10, 2020.

The Xbox Series S is small enough to fit inside an Xbox Series X

$499 really good pricing for those specs.. If not for Xbox exclusive games, buy it for Multiplatform games instead of spending a bomb on building a PC plus GAMEPASS anyway ! Please bring in All Access to India :D

I hope Sony sticks to $499

Now question is, what will India get and when? Looks like India will get decent stock of xbox compared to PS5. So I might end up getting series x first lol.

Same , but Series S for me if it's priced around 25k or 30k + offers

Provided it can atleast do 1440p 60

Even I am thinking of getting a xsx. Its the first time I don't have a PC at the start of a gen so might as well go with an Xbox for multiplatforms and maybe ps5 later.

Looks like Destiny 2: Beyond Light will be Xbox launch title.

Console and game launch on November 10.

Destiny 2 getting next-gen upgrade

Beyond Light on Game Pass day 1

Imagine Halo was not delayed. Bungie originally made game going against current Bungie made game.

Most likely this deal has taken place because Halo couldn't make it.

Anyway, not interested in Destiny.

I was hot for CrossFireX and I am having bad feeling about it missing Launch Window.
