No they can't. Only way you can shrink the size is if the process becomes mature enough so you don't need as many redundant CUs to cover for failure so you can shrink it. Or just straight up jump the node and shrink it that way. Like how PS4 Slim is 16nm compared to PS4 (28nm). Smaller chip, small transistors, less power, less heat, smaller size.

not really great, since they loaded into the opening sequence, which has very small map and barely any other buildings/cars/NPCs.

Halo Infinite going to the start of the next 10 years for Halo. I doubt the game will even last a year at current state.

I am probably being ignorant regarding this because I do not have any idea regarding what goes on behind engineering and design of a console.

 

My assumption was based on the timeline it takes for a new console to come into market right from R&D to final production (usually 7+ years) whereas design revisions takes an average of 3 years. 

 

Probably the tech moves fast enough to warrant a slimmer version within a short span of time. It is just that this happens without fail every gen for playstation since PS2 hence my apprehensions.

I saw this at the live reveal. My very first reaction was - Is this actually a new gen or did they accidentally put out a cancelled model from one of the Xbox 360 Halo Games (This is not worthy of even even Xbox One).

 

The model, gameplay, graphics, the way the characters are animated - Why the heck would any cpmpany even use this in a new console footage (Heck this should not be used even in a new game footage, it should not be shown at all, unless they are making an arcade game or something).

I realized Craigfinite is probably even aimed at ultra low end shitty PC's, would explain this x360 brute face then.
