Game pass doesn't have next gen games because there are very few next gen games right now. The library will be solid after 6 months - 1 year if next gen launch.

I am talking about launch as he is buying the console at launch. Why is he buying a next gen console at launch when it doesnt have anything next gen on it. Whats the point?

It has shown that it has a hardware (talking about Series X) capable of handling next generation games with feature sets that are supported across platforms. That is the base set for titles which would be developed by 3rd party and first party developers. If your metric is simply exclusivity then you'd have a rigid benchmark of next gen.

I dont want an essay about Series X power. Its all written there with no proofs shown.

What has MS shown that warrants purchasing their next gen console? Tell me.

Besides, even Sony has only 2 true next gen games in the launch window. RnC and the Demon Souls remake. None of them are system sellers for me. Maybe for some.

Sony also has a next gen controller mind you if you dont like launch games :)

He is buying because he wants to buy. What makes you the authority on approving everyone's purchasing decisions?

I am asking why is he buying, i am not stopping him nor laughing at his purchase. Its a simple why. Please oil your knee if you don't understand simple discussions.

I can still see it in stock on lesser know sites. Was about to buy one to satisfy the new console khujli but then i thought what would i even play on it when I can play everything with better graphics on my PC. Held off on purchase. At this moment, Series X makes sense to only those who do not have a decent PC. For everyone else who owns a One X or PC, this purchase is not worth it.

You've answered part of your own question bud. If you want all the privileges of a true next gen power then you gotta buy next gen.

For exclusives even, it can be played after few years too when game and console prices have gone down.. it's the matter of personal choice here.

I meant last gen as in ps4. Are you being purposefully daft?

Unless you are living in a Amazonian tribe, you'd know all games including cross gen games run at much higher fidelity with faster loading times on next gen.

And most games will run at better fps too. Unlocked fps games are straight up running at locked 60 fps on both series s and x.

Old xbox and 360 games are running at 1440p and 4k on s and x. Games like gta 4 are locked 60 fps on both x and s.

Fps drops for all current gen games are gone. Everything is locked. And the load times and quick resume features are mind blowing. Autohdr works great on games like Arkham City.

All these things are enough to be called next gen.

The real question is why do you care so much? :scratchchin:

He has clearly stated that he wants to play Gears and Halo, neither of which he has played before. Do you think it makes sense to buy a One X over a Series X at this point?

I am just asking why does he need a new console to play old games specifically :P

Anyway i got my answer, its just a feel good purchase. Enjoy it

What exact proof do you need? Unreleased titles being benchmarked?

If I didn't have an Xbox console, it's presenting me with a hardware which is capable of a handling next generation games (which is one par or above it's competition), it has a service (Games Pass Ultimate) that has delivered if spades to me and has backwards compatibility that not just covers it's Xbox one generation, but also has good 360 support (with limited OG Xbox).

If it hasn't shown anything significant to you, then not sure what's the point of getting confused if someone else wants to make a shift to their next generation offering. I wouldn't be making a jump to the PS5 on day one, if my PS4 wasn't on it's death bed.

Yes play the past on a next gen console coz there is nothing new . Very good. Excellent feature.

GP is again play the past. Cyberpunk like new games aint coming to GP soon.

Boot gears 5 in 2 secs is inviting for you

How else do you suggest he play those old games?

Why hasnt he played them till now? Hold on  till the console makes sense and is worth it . I am sure these games arent top priority for him considering he has waited till now.
